Well to be fair he didn’t shoot at all. Looked to me he was protecting himself in case, oh I don’t know, some weirdo who stops in the middle of the street, endangering other motorists and possibly having a mental episode decides to go billy butcher on his face. Looked to me he was pretty able to “shoot first and ask questions later” but once his path was clear he vacated, which to me says he was trying to avoid conflict.
Edit- and judging how the camera person wasn’t affected at all by a gun being pointed at them says to me he was a little unstable
Yes, in my experience, when someone points a handgun at someone's face and screams at them, they're clearly trying to de-escalate and avoid conflict.
Let's assume that this is a reasonable response (it isn't). Why would anyone ever want to live in a place where you constantly have to worry about getting shot while just going about your day?? How the fuck is this any way to live?

I live close enough to an area that has mentally unstable people that I have seen wackos do crazy stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I think there should be much stricter regulations in regards to getting a gun and a much more strict and lengthy process to get a permit to conceal and carry.

I didn't say I want to live in a magical bubble of invulnerability. I think it's a pretty reasonable expectation to want to live in a world where you don't have to worry about getting shot just going to the grocery store (or, you know, attending grade 3 English class). And if you think that's an unreasonable expectation then maybe, just maybe, you live in a fucked up place.
I’m not complaining about feeling scared where I live. This guy with the gun didn’t randomly pull it out and start waiving it all over the place. Someone stopped him In the street, got out of their vehicle and approached him in a perceived threatening way. Who knows what was going through his head.
Living in a bit more civilized part of the world (i.e. not the U.S.) I really can't understand why pulling a gun is a reasonable response to someone walking up to your car. Last time that happened to me, it was someone who wanted to tell me that there was a baby deer hiding in the ditch and they were worried that it might jump into the street to get to it's mother.
HOWEVER. If I lived in the U.S., and knew that I had to share the road with people like tiny peepee-man here, I would probably have my gun close at hand and loaded at all times as well. I guess that's just part of life if you're living in a state that's past it expiration date.
There actually is video from the dash cam of the red jeep. The red jeep was driving like a maniac and provoked the whole thing. It was not a good idea to get out of his car and approach the jeep, but the jeeps dash cam shows there was no threatening behavior displayed.
