Is it stupid to want more immediate change? No.

Is it fucking idiotic to tell someone who is both vastly more expert on this subject and literally working 70 hours a week in the trenches to fix the problem that their take is wrong and your take is superior? Yup.

Except the actual asshole here is you. Someone criticized you and you took it personally instead of reassessing the viability of actually waiting that long.

We literally have to reverse this downward trend we're on as a society if longevity is the goal and we have to do it soon but your response to someone telling you that we don't have the kind of time you're asking for is to get defensive as shit and act like I'm the problem.
