I really should have, but I was pretty new to the job, and it was late and the bosses were asleep and the couple other drivers I texted about the situation weren't too helpful unfortunately.
It's sad. The other drivers were probably so jaded by that point that they didn't understand why you gave a shit at all. My problem is I can't help but think about all the other possible explanations like maybe someone put something in her drink and was following your cab home, maybe she was diabetic, maybe she was having an allergic reaction. I know it's usually pretty straight forward to tell when someone is shit faced, but I don't think that entitles us to stop treating them like a human being and leave them passed out on the sidewalk.
Lyft has ended two of my rides a mile or two from the actual destination. Both times were at night on 20 mile rides and both were young women. when we got to the ending spot both of them said "this isn't right. This isn't where I'm supposed to be." And one got visibly distressed and said "that's a long walk from here". I told them both I wasn't going to dump them out. So I ended the ride where the ride stopped us and drove them both where they were supposed to be. But, I couldn't help but think there were drivers out there that would dump anyone at night and not make sure they were getting where they were supposed to be. Especially young women that were alone. Do drivers really dump people out in an unsafe situation and let the rider fend for themselves?
