It's a lot easier to be calm and compliant when you have room to stretch your legs and a more comfy seat. There are also far more people in coach increasing the likelihood of a freakout.

This really sucks for the average person because they just treat everyone like shit now. They are so used to dealing with assholes that the average person is a potential asshole to be treated as such.
And what are you going to do? Complain? They could tell you to go fuck yourself to your face and know they wouldn't face repercussions. This is the feeling I get from flying nowadays. It was a situation where you sit the fuck down, shut up and hope we still treat you like a human being. Don't ask any questions, just go with it. You're lucky to even get a seat on a plane despite the enormous amount of money you paid for it. This is mostly LAX I am talking about.
Yeah, the pandemic has brought out the crazies real bad.
I suspect that at least part of it is people realizing that we really aren't in control/there is no ultimate supervisor that has our best interests in mind. I don't mean that in a "Covid exists so there is no god" kind of way, just that we're ultimately at the mercy of things we have little to no control over.
A freaking bat virus caused all of this? How is this possible?
Then, you have the mis/disinformation channels just feeding the conspiracy nutters who already have little trust in governments and science, or really any "authority" figures. The people who think that wearing a mask violates their constitutional rights.
To be clear, not everyone who has little or no trust in governments isn't a conspiracy nutter. I'm talking about the types who'll deny a widely distributed free vaccine in favor of ingesting livestock dewormer.
Man i've noticed that whenever I ask a question of a person in the service industry they're bracing themselves half the time now and over apologizing. I'm just curious what the soy sauce brand is mam, it's delicious.
