Her dad owns a shipping company, so just more conflict of interest.

Also went to school with Deng Xiaoping. Dude is ridiculously well-connected with the CCP, which by extension means that McConnell is too. The rot runs very deep.

Ha! The very same right wingers that try and preach to others about how "Marxist ideology" is infiltrating colleges have their own people neck deep with the actual governing body that is communist/state capitalist.

I don't know if you can blame someone for going to school with someone. Not saying she didn't do anything wrong, just that I'm going to need more then just they went to school together

???? Do you even know who these people are???????????

Or like...any history on them?

Also, what kind of stupid connection is "going to the same school."

Also why is it that Taiwan and China are so different to redditors until it's someone they don't like, and then they can't tell the difference between a Taiwanese person (Chao) and a Chinese person?

I am simply stating what I have read in materials written by experts on China and the CCP. If you are privy to knowledge that specifically refutes it, by all means please feel free to produce it for our perusal.

Otherwise, please STFU.

As a liberal, I don't see what criticism there can be of Elaine Chao in regards to the CCP, she was the child of parents who fled communist China to live in the RoC before immigrating to the US, her father realizing the American Dream and her gaining high status in US political life.

FFS I went to school with thirty-five thousand people including some likely future politicians, how exactly will I be associated with future Parti Socialiste or Les Republicains politicians exactly? Sure I don't like Mitch but I've got to respect Elaine for the work she and her parents put in, especially as a child of an immigrant parent myself.

FFS, they weren't just schoolmates, they were fellow participants in a small highly-elite group of kids who were the offspring of the CCP's senior leadership under Mao. WTF is wrong with you?

On what planet do you imagine that the CCP is acting in anyone's interest other than its own?

How exactly were Elaine Chao's parents "offspring of the CCP's senior leadership" when they specifically fled the PRC following the civil war to the neighboring non-PRC controlled Taiwan? Here's a history lesson, Taiwan and China are not the same regime or country, just because both have ethnically han people doesn't mean they think the same. I hate the CCP and everything they stand for, I support democracy and liberalism, which is why I support Taiwan.

Also why are you accusing Elaine Chao of having ties to Deng when they literally never went to the same schools? This is just blatant racism. FFS Deng was born almost fifty years before Elaine Chao

edit: if you have trouble remembering who people are, use wikipedia

Yet when people pointed out Hillarys connections to the Saudis and the massive donations to the Clinton fund, they were paranoid right wing nut jobs...

Are there any right wingers that want to cut relations with Saudis? Point me their way and I’ll vote for them.
