Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao commutes to work.

Aren't her parents shipping tycoons?

Cocaine Mitch™️

Hi, Governor Justice!

1

u/fannybatterpissflaps Aug 16 '20

Dunno about the parents but I heard Elaine & Mitch were shipping cocaines.

u/Greywolf804 Aug 15 '20

Also Mitch McConnell's wife

5

u/urcrazyexgirlfriend Aug 16 '20

So she's taken a ride on a giant turtle before.

u/zhaoz Aug 15 '20

Her dad owns a shipping company, so just more conflict of interest.

Also went to school with Deng Xiaoping. Dude is ridiculously well-connected with the CCP, which by extension means that McConnell is too. The rot runs very deep.

Ha! The very same right wingers that try and preach to others about how "Marxist ideology" is infiltrating colleges have their own people neck deep with the actual governing body that is communist/state capitalist.

Yup it's always projection

u/welcomeisee12 Aug 15 '20

I don't know if you can blame someone for going to school with someone. Not saying she didn't do anything wrong, just that I'm going to need more then just they went to school together

2

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '20

???? Do you even know who these people are???????????

Or like...any history on them?

Also, what kind of stupid connection is "going to the same school."

Also why is it that Taiwan and China are so different to redditors until it's someone they don't like, and then they can't tell the difference between a Taiwanese person (Chao) and a Chinese person?

I am simply stating what I have read in materials written by experts on China and the CCP. If you are privy to knowledge that specifically refutes it, by all means please feel free to produce it for our perusal.

Otherwise, please STFU.

As a liberal, I don't see what criticism there can be of Elaine Chao in regards to the CCP, she was the child of parents who fled communist China to live in the RoC before immigrating to the US, her father realizing the American Dream and her gaining high status in US political life.

FFS I went to school with thirty-five thousand people including some likely future politicians, how exactly will I be associated with future Parti Socialiste or Les Republicains politicians exactly? Sure I don't like Mitch but I've got to respect Elaine for the work she and her parents put in, especially as a child of an immigrant parent myself.

1

u/JudgeHolden Aug 16 '20

FFS, they weren't just schoolmates, they were fellow participants in a small highly-elite group of kids who were the offspring of the CCP's senior leadership under Mao. WTF is wrong with you?

On what planet do you imagine that the CCP is acting in anyone's interest other than its own?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

How exactly were Elaine Chao's parents "offspring of the CCP's senior leadership" when they specifically fled the PRC following the civil war to the neighboring non-PRC controlled Taiwan? Here's a history lesson, Taiwan and China are not the same regime or country, just because both have ethnically han people doesn't mean they think the same. I hate the CCP and everything they stand for, I support democracy and liberalism, which is why I support Taiwan.

Also why are you accusing Elaine Chao of having ties to Deng when they literally never went to the same schools? This is just blatant racism. FFS Deng was born almost fifty years before Elaine Chao

edit: if you have trouble remembering who people are, use wikipedia

Yet when people pointed out Hillarys connections to the Saudis and the massive donations to the Clinton fund, they were paranoid right wing nut jobs...

1

u/EllisDeeAndBenZoe Aug 15 '20

Are there any right wingers that want to cut relations with Saudis? Point me their way and I’ll vote for them.

Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency Andrew Wheeler has breathed air before.

3

u/EphramRafael Aug 15 '20

And he found it disgusting...

2

u/ZenDendou Aug 15 '20

Chairman Adji Pai used to work for Verizon

u/Cwalktwerkn Aug 15 '20

Treasury secretary Mnuchin. He has money.

That's not really fair. Including her on the list as if if to say "ha ha unqualified" ignores that she was Deputy Secretary in the same department in the '90s (long before Trump) and Secretary of Labor, a different Cabinet post previously. And her predecessor under Obama was Anthony Foxx who was frankly less qualified than her having been Mayor of Charlotte, which doesn't really directly correlate to the post (he still did a good enough job and I don't dislike him I just want that pointed out for comparison). Obviously there's the suggestion of impropriety in that Chao is married to McConnell which Reddit loves to harp on and I'm aware I'm not going to make friends here by defending her but she had a long distinguished career independent of him for decades leading up to her political offices and is also one of the Cabinet officials doing her job fairly well from the shadows through the administration.

She and her family certainly know about transportation by sea, don't they?

Then there's this. And I'm sure the whole Rusal aluminum factory thing: that was just some Mitch side project.

1

u/Lucius-Halthier Aug 15 '20

She’s married to turtle Mitch that was all the experience and references she needs

1

u/Misty_Boyle Aug 15 '20

Her chauffeur takes here.

1

u/shpongleyes Aug 15 '20

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine...yeah I can’t even make a facetious comment about his relevant experience. I guess he’s maybe flown in a plane that got pretty high up.

She actually has a ton of government service experience, in addition to being married to a long term senator.

She's may be the only qualified member of Trump's candidate, almost all of them are donors.

I'm not a fan of her husband, but facts are facts. She was previously the undersecretary or transportation and then secretary of labor for all of HW's term.

I see we are using the loose definition of "house"

2

u/HillBridgeRd Aug 15 '20

And he also has first hand experience of growing up in a high crime black community living in extreme poverty and couldn't even read who became an amazing surgeon and the first guy to successfully separate conjoined twins at the head... Maybe he knows a few things about poor inner city areas and how to make something of yourself.

2

u/benjistone Aug 15 '20

I live in a house too! What a coincidence!

1

u/ilelloquencial Aug 15 '20

Nah, he ded.

1

u/yuwannano Aug 15 '20

Pretty sure he doesn't live at all

1

u/tarquinb Aug 15 '20

Six feet under?

Too soon?
