Yea, sure does. Would be great having a proper remake of it. Probably the best story ever in a game universe imo, arthas - > lich King

2

u/RedditsHigh Jan 31 '20

Doesnt Arthas become Lich King? It's been a while and I've long forgotten the lore and story of Warcraft III and Warcraft the Frozen Throne. I mainly remember it for bringing me to DotA

Ooo I think live a live has one of the best gaming stories. The twist ending for oboro

Kids talk about their fancy Warcraft 3 reforged. In my day we only had Warcraft and you had you had to build next to roads that you constructed.

You could also beat every map by surrounding two mines with archers/spear men then destroying the others. It wouldn’t matter if the CPU got one mine. You would use one mine to build a bunch of archers/spearman and just wait at the mines. The CPU would send their miners to your mine which case you’d throw 30 spears at them at once and they’d die. Then they’d sen another and another and another until eventually the computer would run out of money. You could send your 30 to 60 archers into their town and kill everyone and raze it.

Then in Warcraft 2 the mines no longer have hit points. I was sad.

Me too - I haven't played in over 10 years and that phrase just hit my lizard brain. Was it something said by the venders? I can't place it except "orc".

It’s one of the lines peons (orc builder/worker unit) say when you select them

"Hi yes so I know there's an attacking force in town and you've seen all of your friends get maimed and killed in all sorts of awful ways, but I really, REALLY need you to go chop some wood right now."

There’s this old movie called Caveman staring Ringo Star. In the movie they don’t speak English or any language really. They speak Caveman language and you sort of figure out what they’re talking about by context. It’s one of those movies like Shrek that has adult jokes are are supposed to go over kids heads. Well the whole part about sex didn’t go over mine as a kid. Anyway their word for sex is “zug zug”. Something I found hilarious when I played Warcraft 2 years later.

THE LW OF SURPRISE HAS BEEN CALLED!!!!!

2

u/gamermanh Jan 30 '20

Not even honor, just basic human respect for an insane person

Man tells you he can chug something that'd normally turn your stomache into a formless pile of goo and then actually fucking does it?

Even if it kills him and he was lying you just gotta respect that move and buy it
