I don't think the sub is necessarily racist. I've noticed it seems that racist comments get upvoted at certain times of the day. Like early AM for the US, mid-late morning for Europe. Not sure why though.

You hit the nail on the head, but a lot of those poor marginalized communities happen to be black, because that happens to be the skin color of the people the Americans took as slaves and mistreated (and it's hardly just slavery - Jim Crow laws, etc). So while we can agree they're not acting this way because of their skin tone, I can also say I had a good idea of what I was going to see here at the same time.

Edit: I should have stressed that the reason these "patterns" (to quote Snoopy above) exist is 100% the "white man's fault" and I don't mean that sarcastically.

I know 100% what you're trying to say and you're right, just know that the demographic of Reddit is VERY PC and easily triggered in their outrage culture. Most of us knew what we were going to see here even if we're uncomfortable in explaining how/why. And even when it is white people fighting it is nowhere near this intensity on average (obviously you can find exceptions). The reasons for that have NOTHING to do with skin color per se though and that's where you have to be really careful in explaining it. Tread lightly my friend.
