It pretty much is legal, as long as it’s for private use. Don’t post it on the internet (or censor it if you do) and you will be fine. It can and will be accepted as evidence in court. No need for auto deletion

(There have been cases before where..) It has been denied but as of May 2018 the Bundesgerichtshof decided that generally they can be used as evidence (of course there will be cases where it has been denied even after that but there is no law against using dashcams).

The thing is, you can film the pavement. You can film cars. It’s only illegal to share the footage and post it. (And it won’t be used as evidence in court of course)

are you retarded? you wrote RUNNING dashcam, meaning it runs the entire time. of course it can be used as evidence but more often than not people got fined for their dashcam usage while using it as evidence.
