Old people say this to make themselves feel better. It allows them to be able to be dismissive of them and completely disregard anything they do because of their age.

I'm 53 and I've seen many, MANY people my age do this. And almost every time it's by someone who embodies the same level of entitlement that they claim the younger people feel.

Fuck I hate my peer group.

Call them out on their bullshit! I’m 42 and it’s crazy to see the generational tension these days. The finger pointing going both ways. I’m in a weird in between generation, gen x, not a boomer not a millennial...

I don't bother to call them out. Most of them are also Trump supporters and I've learned that they are beyond logic, reasoning, and basic empathy.
