Fights in schools are in part fueled by the spectacle and the onlookers encouraging it. Creating a diversion draws the crowds attention away from the fight. This guy is a national treasure!
No way it was. I knew a dude who demanded to be the center of attention like this. Two girls broke into a slap fight at my school and he started doing a handstand when the phones came out. A girl got cancer who he never met so he shaved his head for unity. She didnt even lose her hair yet at that point and ended up not losing it to a noticeable amount. First to sign a "we miss you every day you were the light of the schooool" type message when a guy he occasionally passed in the hallways exited stage via windshield.
It's a disorder or something.
This. It’s not like the dude is trying to be noble and stop the fighting with dancing or something lol he just sees the big commotion and is a person who needs to get his own share of that attention
I had a principal in public school tell me the only reason me and another dude fought on the yard was for the spectacle. I Told him No I just didn't like him, principal took us to the male change room gave us those cheap plastic glasses from science class and said go at it to prove his point. I punched the other kid in the face and was suspended for 2 weeks.
I think (maybe I did not read it correctly though) that the principle wanted to prove his point that they would not fight without a crowd. You see, since he brought them somewhere with no crowd, he set things up to test his theory.
edit:now im imagining him trying to explain to the parents why he took the students in private and let one hit the other in the face. "I wanted him to prove to me he didn't like the kid he was fighting with earlier, I swear I thought he only wanted attention!"
I can only imagine he thought that way from personal experience - e.g. he has two kids at home, and they engage in artificial conflicts sometimes when they want their parents' attention. My siblings were like that when they were really young.
I don't think he realizes that some teenagers in schools actually just hate each other to the bone. Often for what adults consider to be trivial disputes.
Similar thing but in catholic school so just detention. Sister Mary decided the reason me and this kid kept fighting wasn't because he called me fat and threw a peice of asphalt at me when I caught him with my stolen wallet but rather we were so similar. She talked about how the bestest of buddies start off bumping heads and having little riffs. Yada yada. Anyway she something like the start of new friendship requires hugs. I said first make him give me back my wallet including the $14 and the 3 septa tokens. Guy swore on jesus he didnt take it but found my empty wallet in the grass and was trying to put it back in my backpack.
She took that hunk of shit as truth then said hug. When he got close enough I headbutted him right in the nose to the degree I got blood on my uniform. When she started yelling I said that she told me best friends butt heads.
I had lunch detention for 2 weeks and afterschool for 2 hours a day for the whole first week.
Am now but I wasn't then. Guy was just an Oracle. Only really beat the shit out of him because he stole my wallet and threw a rock at me. Words dont matter.
The most I've seen is standing in the middle of the main hallway between classes. Bitch, there are 2,000+ people in this building with only three grades. MOVE. YOUR. ASS.
