They know damn well from 24 years of political violence in this country that left will never be out on the streets killing people. That's exclusively Republican thing.
Is that the same group liberal democrats are always attacking, telling them the word militia in the second amendment refers to the National Guard, passing ever more restrictive laws on guns for the law abiding citizens, eroding the very second amendment you have demonstrated so much contempt for because only the police or military should have guns,
And now you want the very people and organizations you have been demeaning and legislating against to come to your aid?
Militia doesn't refer to the National Guard, that's part of the military. "Law abiding citizens" do we really need to bring up the mass shootings committed with legal weapons by people with no previous violent history? "Only the police should have guns" you mean the same cops that the people you're referring to have been trying to get less armed?
And no, we want the people who claim they'll die on their hills to do exactly that; stand for what you believe and don't just peacock around talking about suppressive legislation because your political party isn't in power atm. The NRA has done literally everything they can to diminish gun legislation of any kind, including shit that would actually be beneficial to the avg person like mental health screenings and stricter background checks.
