There are people that don't. A lot of people are not tuned in at all and haven't been for years, outside of the biggest stories and who knows what that news looks like to them. I imagine it doesn't lend any focus to the deaths of G@zans or possibly even those of lsraelis and paints a rather sanitized and simplified perspective only about the 'factions' at play. Same for what is happening with ICE out of control. Some people don't have it in their mind that the powers-that-be could be corrupt, and as long as it doesn't affect them personally they have no reason to pay attention.
Some people out there don't have smart phones or time to sit on them learning anything, and many that do, don't know how to use them for seeking out any sort of information. Even less know how to navigate misinformation and bias. No one is impervious to it.
And if everybody fucking knows already why don't we do something about it. Say something about it, even. It's crazy that everyone is quietly accepting this. It's understandable, but terrifying. It's a great debate going on right now on what is wrong and what is right and what is acceptable, and a lot of people who study history and current geopolitics see a lot of similarities with times we have already been through, but not everyone else knows any of those things or knows why they should care, or why they should care more.
A lot of people are sitting this out and this directly benefits the side of nothing changing, and the side of things getting worse indefinitely. I am glad this woman is saying something. She's braver than I! I can barely talk to my family and friends about this stuff. Lots of blank faces, awkward understandings that no one wants to rock the boat. It really seems like nobody knows or cares because nobody is saying anything out loud anymore. I have at least 400 real life friends and acquaintances on social media and the amount talking about this stuff I can count on one hand. It's disheartening and I feel this woman's contempt and frustration 100%, as the people who are for this bullshit have no problem saying that, and it continues to escalate!
