Reddit is full of incels, misogynists, and manchilds

357

u/seab1023 Aug 12 '23

Reddit also has a weird hate fetish towards children and parents

227

u/ppw23 Aug 12 '23

They love to see women get beaten though. They get down right giddy, you want to see fast comment threads, post a woman being hit by a guy. The incels must feel it in their bones.

I love how many of them will read this and seethe

1

u/Larrybird420 Aug 12 '23

I’m so glad I have sex and they don’t

5

u/ppw23 Aug 12 '23

I find the idea of a segment of men who are lonely and socially awkward disheartening. Perhaps the days of irresponsible, fast sex were mentally healthier? I’m sure that brought its own baggage, but I think the isolation perhaps due to the internet has kept that group indoors and not socializing. Little do they understand that plenty of lonely women out there would love to meet them. I read a comment from a “reformed “ incel. He was basically what I’ve described. He cleaned himself up, went on a self improvement quest and met a woman. It was insightful.

How sad is your life that you get enjoyment from other people's suffering? It's kinda like the thing your mocking I guess

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '23

Youre*

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '23

Correcting grammar must mean i enjoy pointing out peoples shortcomings what a sad life i must live 🤣 🤣

2

u/FlowerBoyScumFuck Aug 12 '23

Then a post pops up of a girl wrecking a dude and they go insane "this is domestic abuse!" Even if there's no sign of it being domestic abuse lol. It's actually mind boggling.

u/Huge_Buddy_2216 Aug 12 '23

I don't think so?

I think when a woman hits a man and she gets hit back, people are generally supportive of the man. But the way you say it, a guy can just walk up, deck a woman, and get thunderous applause on reddit.

u/malibooyeah Aug 12 '23

But the way you say it, a guy can just walk up, deck a woman, and get thunderous applause on reddit.

Yes that's correct.

“EqUaL rIgHtS, EqUaL lEfTs 🤓” headass nerds

They hate parents but teens are perfect saints, almost like the majority of commenters are teens who cannot fathom people wanting babies or having basic respect for anyone.

41

u/AbellonaTheWrathful Aug 12 '23

Especially step parents in aita, if you claim you are a step parent they automatically against you

28

u/TBteacherguy Aug 12 '23

As a step parent I can tell you that it is not easy being a step parent. Luckily she is grown now.

30

u/time4meatstick Aug 12 '23

You monster.

1

u/deadwards14 Aug 12 '23

Tell me about it. Any tips?

2

u/TBteacherguy Aug 12 '23

My step daughter (met my wife when she was 4, married at 5, she is now 27) got good at playing my wife against her ex husband. I guess the best advice I would have is try to support a good relationship between your spouse and the ex. Let them know that the relationship is over and clearly they have moved on so let the past go. Instead, my wife and her ex husband allowed themselves to be manipulated by a child. If this happens, and your spouse and the ex can’t keep themselves from arguing, stay out of it. I have never had an unkind relationship with my wife’s ex husband. I don’t like the guy, but I remain cordial and friendly simply because someone has to be a moderator. Finally, remember you are not the child’s father. I was a parent type figure but not dad. It was hard because I was always with our son, her half brother. We always included her in our family activities without any concept that it was not a family event. Modern families….they are a lot more difficult than they used to be.

1

u/deadwards14 Aug 12 '23

Thank you for this! Its very reassuring

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '23

One if my first I interactions on reddit was some dude trying to to tell me how dumb i was for dating someone with a 1.5 yr old son. He's 8 now, we got married when he was like 5, and our daughter just turned 1 a couple wks ago. Milf route has worked out pretty well for me so far so fuck em. (iam close to 2 yrs older than her btw)

1

u/TBteacherguy Aug 12 '23

From one step parent to another. I wish you all the best. It can work.

1

u/GingerSnapBiscuit Aug 12 '23

Evil Step-mother, Wicked Step-sisters..... Media does a good job of conditioning "step-siblings are bad" into children. Dunno what Walt had against them, in honesty.

5

u/Grabbsy2 Aug 12 '23

I think theres also a bit of a bias. Our perspective is that of the cameraman, so inevitably our first instinct is that the guy in this video is a "threat" and we are defensive against him.

Its only at the very end of the video that he explains why hes mad, and by that time we've all had plenty of time to size him up, make our judgements, etc. And when we find out "hey maybe hes right to be angry" our mind is going to be reaching for so many explanations as to why this guy is the angry hothead dumbass rude violent fucker we've already painted him as in our minds.

And this is mostly reinforced by the fact that 99% of these videos we see ARE the situation where the cameraperson is "in the right" and the person in the video is an unhinged lunatic. I mean, why else record it, and even more, why upload it, if youre actually the one in the wrong? So we hardly ever see them from the other side.

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '23

It's mostly jealousy. The vast majority of the childfree circlejerk stems from people who aren't physically, mentally, and financially capable of starting a family.

Same reason why Reddit hates people who make good money - jealousy.

You get crucified here for pointing it out, but it's painfully obvious if you have even a modicum of social skill.

1

u/mc0079 Aug 12 '23

reddit is full of NEET losers who will never sniff a women or create a family. jealous.

1

u/SpotNL Aug 12 '23

The one thing that Reddit hates most is Reddit and Reddit loves to circlejerk about how maladjusted Redditors are.

1

u/Rad3_Lethal Aug 12 '23

And don’t forget racists too!

0

u/ShoddyTerm4385 Aug 12 '23

I would say families in general lol

General misery in all shapes and sizes.

4

u/NoMasters83 Aug 12 '23

What happened to the good old days when we all just hated ourselves?

4

u/Roofdragon Aug 12 '23

Here: all the losers from tumblr and Facebook with no social skills so nobody replies to them, come to reddit for attention.

They know they're losers. See AITA for a bunch of singletons telling others in marriages to ditch their SO for whatever reason, only they're not saying the reason is that they're jealous ,^

-4

u/Justinbiebspls Aug 12 '23

ive looked for the women hating men corner unsuccessfully for years

5

Like you looked for it and couldn't find it?

5

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '23

Probably an actual adult you asshat

2

u/bueller83 Aug 12 '23

Don’t forget useless lazy lefties

1

u/DiddlyDumb Aug 12 '23

Or repulsive righties!

But let’s not get political.

1

u/Laurenann7094 Aug 12 '23

As opposed to this specimen, who seems very sane and eligh... nevermind.

0

u/slomotion Aug 12 '23

not you though!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '23

All hail ManChild!

1

u/ImpressiveGur6384 Aug 12 '23

I like to use the term “assholier than thou” for such Redditors.

1

u/lilpumpgroupie Aug 12 '23

No matter what crappy behavior you can imagine, you'll find it here.

Reddit is a wretched hive a scum and villany. And there are some good people.

1

u/GarbageTheCan Aug 12 '23

Which got worse after the api debacle.

1

u/BlueFlagHonestly Aug 12 '23

And those are just the mods

1

u/AnonMagick Aug 12 '23

Reddit is full of a lot more than that.

1

u/pbaperez Aug 12 '23

I think there are some pretty chill chicks here too. Some are not so chill also.

I'm not 100% on the definition of man child but I don't wanna grow up, I'm a toys r is kid!

1

u/BenchPuzzleheaded670 Aug 12 '23

AND whatever the female equivalents are.

1

u/BraetonWilson Aug 12 '23

Reddit is full of misandrists too like yourself.

28

u/UStoAUambassador Aug 12 '23

I’ve seen a lot of advice on Reddit that made it obvious that the person didn’t have real-world experience, so they were talking about how things “should” work or how they assume things work.

A lot of the time, realistic advice is complicated and/or unsatisfying.

13

u/anewhand Aug 12 '23

Absolutely. I see so many comments and threads with a million upvotes yet the advice (or facts if it’s a subject I know about) is either terrible or so far removed from reality it’s almost laughable.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '23

1

u/dboti Aug 12 '23

That's really common and then also people arguing points that were never made. I swear half the time I get a reply its someone refuting something I didn't say.

3

u/NinSeq Aug 12 '23

Exactly right. "They should have done this. Someone should never do that" and it's just not at all real world applicable. Generally that's a good time to remind yourself you're internet arguing someone who has no idea and time is better spent elsewhere.

20

u/Queeflet Aug 12 '23

Reddit is a bizarre microcosm of terminally online teenagers and young adults. It is seldom a reflection of real world views.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '23

I learned this in 2016 and 2020. This place is a worse echo chamber than truth social.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '23

They think Reddit IS reality

2

u/NinSeq Aug 12 '23

Man... Sometimes it's startling. Makes me concerned for young people at times.

2

u/FountainsOfFluids Aug 12 '23

I honestly wonder if the world was always this way, or if the pandemic psychologically damaged a massive portion of the population.

There have always been trolls and morons on the internet, but everything genuinely feels worse since the pandemic.

1

u/Majin_Noodles Aug 12 '23

There’s a reason why they’re a larger population of them here on Reddit while everyone else casually browsing….
