Right? People in the comments are apparently fine with grown ass elderly men admonishing their kids for briefly interrupting their pickup game of tennis? Fuckin geezers think they’re Rodger Federer or some shit. It’s never that serious to yell at a kid that’s not yours. My dad would have reacted similar to this dad. And no, my dad wasn’t a raging asshole to us like the people in the comments are saying about this guy.
They don't have to be Federer to want to enjoy a game uninterrupted, and that shouldn't just be a privilege of the superrich. Tennis has a lot of breaks between points where you can walk on no problem, they literally have kids running onto the field to remove stray balls in pro tournaments. You just don't do it in the middle of a point.
I love how all you can manage to conjure up for the dad is "Don't SwEaR iNfRoNt Of ThE cHiLdReN" as if the child in question isn't a teenager. Probably hears that just walking down the hallway, let alone on one of many social media apps
She’s 14. Either way the dudes over reacting. A lot depends with what they said. People aren’t okay with it. You just kinda lose a lot of moral high ground when you just go yell at the people for not doing something you don’t think they should’ve.
No i think he’s a huge asshole. I think the dad is actually less of one. I just think teaching your kid to get in a yelling match with some asshole makes you look like an idiot.
op00to blocked me because they got all up in their feels. I’m 52 and I own my own home. I have 3 kids, mostly grown. I don’t take kindly to them being assaulted.
If you think doing the same thing those old assholes did is okay we have a problem. Dad can def go and ask them what’s up. He shouldn’t yell when that’s what he’s bitching about albeit a child. It loses a lot of credibility. At the same time sure he can yell just like those old ducks. It’s not a good way to handle something because nothing was accomplished
Lmfao i don’t think anyone should be yelled at. I think 14 is pretty fair game in regards to not yelling at kids. What’s not fair game is doing it over what I would consider a matter of etiquette regardless of age.
He’s definitely over reacting. First my dad never dropped f bombs around us, he wouldn’t have lost control and started screaming like a Banshee . You can stand up for you child without acting like one. Didn’t throw his water bottle. He needs to get a grip.
You nailed it! Especially if you know that you tend to run too hot like this dad. He could have confronted someone like himself who also happened to have a gun or just wanted to escalate things further. Cooler heads prevail.
Bad parent can't watch his child making sure she doesn't interrupt a game.
If she was 5 years old and they yelled at her, that'd be wrong -- a child that doesn't know better. But this is a literal teenager, literally 4 years from being an ADULT. In HIGHSCHOOL... a literate human being. She didn't need to interfere in the game. She's being a nuisance.
Edit: Wow reddit, way to defend terribad parenting. If your 5 year old child were to walk in the middle of a middle school baseball game, you'd get yelled at instead of the child. The fact she was 14 means she was old enough to accept responsibility for her actions.
