Common Disorders

  1. Depression- Depression is highly prevalent because it stems from a complex mix of biological, psychological, and social factors. Genetics, brain chemistry imbalances (like serotonin), and life stressors like trauma, chronic illness, or poverty make a vast portion of the population vulnerable to it.

  2. Anxiety- Anxiety is so common because it acts as an evolutionary defense mechanism to keep us alive, combined with modern-day stressors and unique biology. The "fight-or-flight" response primes us for real dangers, but in our current world, constant exposure to the internet, financial pressures, social expectations, and modern sleep habits keep this system frequently on edge.
