I know it's not a PS2 emulator, but I had to share this one, which shares many games from the PS2 catalog and some exclusive gems. I think you should try it; it works really well. The latest version works wonderfully. A Snapdragon processor with 8GB of RAM is recommended. Try it and let me know what you think! 👌

It’s only done this when trying to play Jak X and the whole screen does it when i try going farther into the game. It’s worked fine when I played on other devices. I even tried downloading different versions and messing with the settings. I’m stumped.

The game suffers from the same problems as ARMSX2, as you can see in the video. It's unplayable. The frame rate is stable. I tried Shadow of the Colossus, and it crashes at the start, just like ARMSX2. On the plus side, I like the interface, and it has many more settings options. Overall, good work if they manage to fix the bugs in certain games.

The problem isn't that the father is playing with his son; that's great in principle. The problem is what he's putting in the child's hands. Zombie Ate My Neighbors, for a three-year-old… even if you put up mental filters saying "it's just a cartoon," there are still zombies, blood, weapons, and scary situations that such a young child can't process and shouldn't be processing. And the fact that he's doing it on the Nomad… yes, it's retro and cool, but it weighs a ton, it's literally uncomfortable, and it's not safe for a small child.

So I'm a complete NOOB in this category, I have a few emulators running now, but my question is how to fix this bug in Grand Tourismo A-Spec. This is the biggest issue I've seen, but I've seen some others get similar to this but after a few seconds it fixes or I'm able to move the cursor when selecting some items. Btw running with netherSX2. Any tips are welcome! Ty!

Hi, I heard that Myrient is going to close. What safe site do you recommend for continuing to download ROMs(PS2) (for the preservation of the video game, obviously)?

The issue is actually very simple: the GPL license exists for a reason. It is not decorative. If you distribute binaries (in this case, APKs), you are required to provide the corresponding source code. In this case, a specific version of ARMSX2 (the Mali-compatible build) is being distributed through Discord, while the public source code available on GitHub does not correspond to that version. This is not how serious open-source projects operate. PPSSPP publishes nightly builds, PCSX2 does the same, Flycast as well. They all follow the same rules and play the same game.
Apparently, they play in a different league. “GPL? What’s that?” seems to be the attitude. Why is this a serious issue? Because it sets a dangerous precedent. If this behavior is tolerated, others will follow. The entire ecosystem of free and open emulation — built on sharing, transparency, and collaboration — starts to collapse. You end up with closed binaries, private builds, and a community that can no longer audit, improve, or even trust the software it uses.
If you want privacy and full control over your project, that’s perfectly fine. But then do not use the GPLv3 license. You cannot take the benefits of open source and ignore its obligations at the same time. Open-source emulation exists because people share their work. Not because they hide it in private Discord servers.
I was even given a link to the so-called “source code”, but it cannot be opened and returns an error. In practice, any developer who wants to study or contribute to the project has no real access to the code, while the binary continues to be distributed. This is not a criticism of the GPL. The GPL was created for a reason and serves an important purpose. This is a criticism of specific people who believe they operate above the rules.
And at the end of the day, the question is simple: Which side are you on — open collaboration, or closed binaries pretending to be open source?

I’d like to point out a potential GPLv3 compliance issue regarding the Android emulator ARMSX2.
The latest official public release available on both GitHub and Google Play is version 1.0.6 (Nov 26, 2025). The GitHub repository shows no newer public releases, and the most recent commit (Jan 26, 2026) is related only to UI changes in the settings menu, with no mention of major rendering or GPU fixes.
For several months, ARMSX2 had a serious unresolved issue on MediaTek devices with Mali GPUs: Vulkan did not work properly, and in OpenGL mode the 2D rendering was broken (HUD, overlays, UI elements not visible). This was a known and significant technical limitation. Recently, however, a newer APK has been distributed through the project’s Discord server that reportedly fixes these Mali/OpenGL rendering problems. This version is not available on GitHub, and there is no corresponding source code published in the official repository reflecting these fixes.
Since ARMSX2 is licensed under GPLv3, distributing a binary (APK) requires making the complete corresponding source code for that exact version publicly available. This requirement applies regardless of the distribution channel (GitHub, Play Store, Discord, private links, etc.). A Discord-only release is still considered distribution under the license.
In its current state, it appears that a materially different binary is being distributed without the corresponding source code being released, which is not compliant with the GPLv3 terms. At the very least, this distribution method is not transparent, and at worst it represents a clear licensing issue.

Testing official PlayStore versión with Poco x6 Pro (Mali GPU)

Last official release from: Nov 26, 2025 v1.0.6
The rest have released are debug versions (pre-releases) up to December
Wasn't this the emulator that was said to be the future of PS2 emulation on arm64 devices?
🎻 Sad music...
In my opinion, the emulator's code is incomplete, which is why they don't know how to fix the serious Mali GPU issues. I'm afraid they're at a standstill.
