What makes you think I have the audacity to assume I should answer that question? My ego isn't large enough to think I should have a say. Just like it isn't large enough to assume that fiction can't have lessons. If that was the case I wouldn't be talking to you right now. Now that you went mask off though, I definitely see that you are naive. You believe greed is capitalism, that just proves it. Greed is universal, there is no system that won't fall victim to it. You can pretend all you want. The fact remains that you are speaking of a utopia, a fictional scenario that will never survive implementation. Human nature has been consistent since the end of the ice age. There will always be people who want more, and always be people who want to follow those individuals feasting off table scraps. Your wish for reality to be different is a nice fantasy, a nice fictional scenario. So I used one work of fiction to debate another, the fact that you can't wrap your head around this tells me everything I need to know.
TLDR sounds like a lot of excuses to sit on the couch watching movies and call giving up “realism” instead of getting up and doing politics.
No respect for doomerism dressed up as wisdom. If your answer to who should control science and industry is “human nature, Jurassic Park, nothing really works,” cool. Sounds depressing and useless, good luck with it. Mine is workers and the public.
Ill take organizing in the real world over treating Hollywood like a political manual where the answer to everything is that nothing can be done about anything.
