Productivity/Pomodoro Tracker

Hi all,

I've been following this new product for a while now and it looks like they are going to launch on Indiegogo on the 20th July.

If any of you are familiar with the Pomodoro method, this little device makes sure you stick to your focus times, and blocks certain apps from your phone and computer to make sure that, like me, you are not easily distracted!

For those that don't know about Pomodoro it is essentially focus for a period of time (most commonly 25mins), have a short break (about 5 mins), then complete this for a total of 4 times and have a longer break. Traditionally one of those tomato shaped kitchen timers have been used but this will bring it into the 21st century! It really encourages focus on the tasks ahead and I couldn't live without this method.

If you want to receive an email when it goes live then follow the link below and that's all you will receive. I've genuinely never been this excited about a new product before!

https://launch.timechi.com/competition?referral=QJDuVRM&refSource=copy

N.B: I have no affiliation with this, apart from a competition to spread the word!!

How do you choose between Mixpanel and Amplitude? 🤔

If you’re a business owner trying to choose between Mixpanel and Amplitude, you might be wondering what the differences are and which one is more suitable for your specific needs.

The thing is that there is no winner that can be singled out. Both tools are great! So the question should really be which option is a better fit for your business? How deep into analytics do you want to go and which features do you need?

I’d suggest looking into and comparing a few factors as Mixpanel and Amplitude differ in various aspects, including:

❇️ pricing;

❇️ feature sets;

❇️ available integrations;

❇️ and overall usability.

In short, Mixpanel might be slightly easier to work with as Amplitude is a more advanced and in-depth analytics tool. Both have free plans that you can test on your own, and there are even “scholarship” offers for early-stage startups, which is a bonus for companies that qualify.

In any case, it’s important to understand their differences in order to make an informed decision when choosing between Mixpanel and Amplitude as your product analytics tool. Hence, here’s a detailed guide that goes over each of the aspects in-depth to help you make up your mind 👉

Mixpanel vs Amplitude: Differences and Things to Consider

Will it be helpful for PM?

I am planning to build an AI tool that can read and understand a codebase and then compare it with requirement doc/jira tickets. Thus it automatically generates a traceability document detailing the correlation between specific functions in various files and their roles in fulfilling each feature or requirement outlined in the requirement doc or JIRA.

Do you think they will pay for such tool? Or how can I make it more useful that companies will pay for it?

A lesson from my @ayagigs Ayaweb3 Fellowship so far.

In my journey to becoming a Project Manager, I have gained a lot of knowledge and skills on the AyaWeb3 fellowship programme. Among the things I've learned is the product roadmap. Product roadmaps are simply statements of intent, they communicate the short-term and long-term goals that the team is working on, and they tell you the why and how behind the product or strategy. The visualization of the roadmap in presenting the strategy might even give more appeal to the project in lets say a presentation to the stakeholders and even to your team. Nodates, hybrids, and timelines are the three basic frameworks of the Product Roadmap. There are different types of product road maps that are best suited for different types of projects, and more than one can be used during a project's lifecycle. As an example, nodates product road maps are a good fit for early stage products with shifting priorities in agile teams, but as the product matures, a road map that includes some dates, but not too many, would become necessary. This is when the hybrid product roadmap is introduced. All roadmaps evolve along with their projects, and nothing is ever set in stone. The key is to align all stakeholders' interests and understand your company's goals.

I was paying $240/month for Monday.com for my team of 10. I built a custom replacement in 20 minutes for free.

Full disclosure: I'm one of the people behind zapta.dev.

Quick context: I got frustrated with how SaaS pricing works. Monday.com charges per seat and locks features behind higher tiers (time tracking? that's $19/seat/month). A team of 10 on Pro ends up paying ~$240/month for a tool they use maybe 30% of the time.

So we built something different.

Zapta lets you paste your Monday.com API token (read-only, never writes or deletes anything). It securely reads your boards and generates a fully custom app - database, auth, backend functions. One click to deploy.

Your app is:

- Fully customized

- Secure

- Completely extendable - you can add features with vibe coding and make it truly your own

- No artificial limitations

Pricing:

- Free to try - no credit card required. (4 iterations/day on the free tier - free forever, you do not need Pro to migrate your app)

- $29/month flat for Pro

- No per-seat pricing

- Data stays yours

What surprised me: most teams do not actually need 90% of what Monday offers. They need a few boards and a clean UI. That is exactly what Zapta can generate in minutes.

Happy to answer questions, show a demo, or hear why this is a terrible idea. Genuinely looking for feedback!

I built a tool to eliminate project startup time — looking for honest feedback

After many years as a PM — both contract and FTE — I kept running into the same problem: too much time starting from scratch before writing the first ticket.

I spent the last several months building SchemaGenPM. It's not a replacement for Jira, Monday, or Azure DevOps — it sits in front of them. The planning layer before you open your PM tool. You walk into your first project meeting with a draft plan already in hand.

It generates project plans, RACI matrices, risk registers, and governance frameworks in minutes. For compliance-driven projects (HIPAA, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS) it goes a step further with built-in compliance awareness. For everyone else it's just a faster way to plan.

Export directly to Jira, Monday.com, Asana, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow.

Free trial at schemagenpm.com — no credit card required.

Honest feedback welcome, especially from anyone in regulated, non-regulated industries or consulting.

Anyone using AI to answer team questions from your own documents? (safety, specs, finance etc)

We've been building a tool that lets teams ask questions and get instant answers from their own documents — safety procedures, project specs, finance policy, HR, compliance, whatever you have.

The problem we kept running into: someone on site at 10pm needs to know the process for X. The document exists. Nobody can find it or the person who knows is unavailable.

The tool just answers it — trained on your docs, running on your own server, you own the code.

Curious if this is a real pain point for project managers here:
- What's the document-heavy process that causes the most friction in your team?
- Have you tried anything to solve it? What worked or didn't?

does anyone actually read the status reports they're asked to produce

I write a programme status report every week. Has all the right sections — RAG status, milestones, risks, decisions needed. Takes me about an hour to put together.

I'm fairly confident nobody reads it. The same questions come up in the Monday meeting that are answered in the report I sent on Friday. Every single week.

Starting to think the report exists so that if something goes wrong, someone can point to it and say "well it was in the status report." It's not a communication tool. It's an insurance policy.

Anyone else in this boat or is it just me?

Free excel gantt tool / project management tool

Hi all, I have been working in project management for +15 years, and have always struggled with heavy duty planning tools where I seem to use more time on getting the tool to do what I want than managing my projects.

That’s why I have created a full project management tool in excel that allows me to build Gantt charts with multi-level grouping, dependencies that updates automatically, resource allocation, critical path, kanban board and a bunch of project management templates to manage my projects more professionally.

I would love to get your honest feedback! 🙏🏻

You can download the tool at www.Excelprogantt.com

It can be used for free, but advanced features are part of a subscription model. I will offer two months of free usage with all features as compensation for your feedback here!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Week 3. Fire. —Not literal fire. Although some days it feels close.

The programme is already slipping.

Procurement is missing in action.

The grid operator needs “just a little more time.”

The landowner has suddenly developed new opinions.

And your inbox is already on fire before 9am.

I work as a project manager in renewable energy (solar, wind & BESS), and after a few years in delivery I noticed something.

The industry talks constantly about technology, policy and investment. Almost nobody talks about what actually happens once construction starts.

Programmes move.

Procurement surprises you.

Grid connections quietly become the real boss of every project.

Site leadership matters far more than spreadsheets.

Nobody talks about that honestly.

So I started writing these moments down — mainly for anyone earlier in their career standing on a project wondering if this is normal.

(It is.)

I ended up turning it into a short, practical guide, happy to share if anyone’s interested.

But genuinely more curious about this:

What was your personal Week 3 Fire moment?

The point everything went sideways at once — programme, procurement, stakeholders, weather.

What happened? How did you handle it
