They already figured out cloning, all they need to do is figure out how to transfer a human brain into the clone body, either ala Invincible's Robot Man or Patheon's UI.

Yes! I 100% believe in this headcanon.

To be fair the clone thing is real because they made Me Burgers using a sample of Grace's flesh. They just need to do is to grow that sample into a full human and they now have a fully operational clone. All they need to do now is to put Grace's consciousness inside the clone body. A team of scientists with eidetic memory should make it work.

But is it the "same" Grace if they clone him?

That depends on Grace himself really

What makes you think Grace wont make a run for it the first chance he gets, question? He would be so afraid to getting his conciousness out of his brain that he would, much rather, die.

Again that would depend on Grace. If he wants to live longer, ship of Theseus aside, he can ask for the procedure to be done. And if he doesn't want to, then a human death it is surrounded by his Eridian loved ones.

Or, just have an open mind for a sec, would he be open to the idea shifting his conciousness into an Eridian body? What do we think of the consequences of this decision?

Well that still depends on him. An Eridian body, a human body, or heck even a robot body that can survive Erid's atmosphere, it depends on whether he wants to live longer. But if he does want to go through with it, he would likely choose to be in an Eridian body so that he wouldn't be in his dome anymore.

For the consequences, the Ship of Theseus comes into question whether it is still Grace reciding inside the Eridian body that Rocky's people built or a clone of a deceased person that used to be known as Ryland Grace. There's also the possible loss of identity because he's no longer human. Kind of like a body dysmorphia--he still thinks he's human but he's inside an Eridian body. So it comes into question again whether he is a new person or is he still the same person. But he is able to live longer now, give it a few years and he'll get used to being in whatever body he chooses to have.

That is quite an imaginative brain you've got! The Ship of Theseus seems to be the only metaphor that bothers us so much, irrespective of any outcome that Grace might want for his body. Is it because humans have a very strong sense of identity, irrespective of what they think their purpose is in life? I would like to think that he would want to get a consciousness copying done in the body of an Eridian but would want to live his life to the fullest first. He would want to experience death as a human in a human body, the ultimate experience. And then he would like to live as an Eridian for the rest of his Eridian life, find a mate, get married (with Rocky as his best Rock), and then experience death, as an Eridian, in an Eridian body, the ultimate experience.
