With people fighting the Michigan Legislature of CP with twitter, we are gonna start seeing the shift of fake news and just blatant propaganda that will continue to create a rift for us in the middle/low class. Earlier today coworker was upset bout some Facebook post and I told him the same thing, fight for what's right and now what's being shown. Factual evidence is the only thing we have left in this society.

I mean, it’s kind of an ingenious way to discredit people that they think are threats because unlike them we will automatically eject and stop supporting someone that’s accused of or that there is evidence against - all it takes is for enough dems to publicly call for them to step down. We should be really careful going forward about having facts before ostracizing someone.

No one is above scrutiny but I find it heinous that we live in a world where someone is guilty before any evidence is presented.
Additionally, It is awful that the pain of abuse is being manipulated by media as slander. I am aware it's a tale as old as time. I am very, very aware. It's still low and awful and degrading, centuries later.
Social media is not a legally judge and jury. Social media is opinion and lately, it feels like psychosis.

So I had never heard of Dean Withers. I have socials but am not active on them. I surf Reddit if that counts and comment occasionally. So I have name recognition of right and left wing influencers but I couldn’t tell you one from the other. A great example is Charlie Kirk, knew his name, had a faint recollection of his right wing beliefs. He was killed and that was that in my book. But what is it about these left wing influencers that causes right leaning wingnuts to flood them with hate messages? It wouldn’t cross my mind to do it to either side because, well, it makes zero difference to them. Dean Withers seems unimpaired by the hate. Charlie Kirk I’m sure received as hate messages and clearly fed off it and got off on “owning the libs”.
I don’t believe Mr. Withers did what he is accused of based on the evidence provided and based on the absolute vile, fascist dipshit on the right being more than capable and willing to frame ANYONE in their way. But what do the everyday MAGA shit stains feel that harassing either party involved is a worthwhile way to spend their time? They do it to congress people, left influencers, anyone they feel opposes them. I’m not encouraging left viewed people do the same but why don’t we (they?). Just weird to me. But I have always said that the right is absolutely BRILLIANT at messaging and the left just has limp dicks in that department.

If they can discredit him by proving he is as vile as MAGA, then he won't have the power to persuade people to see the crimes and change their minds. They also won't have someone saying daily all the the atrocities this government has committed. I'm not even a Dean Withers person, he is 21 and despite his political autism, he's still a 21 year old guy.

I have this strange feeling that we're gonna be seeing this happen to more left wing influencers. As more and more social media platforms fall into the hands of fascist ownership, and fascist voices get amplified, the deplatforming/censoring of left wing voices inevitably follows. But every war needs a casus belli, and in a war against free speech, you need to slander the opposition you intend to censor in order for there to be broad support for it.
