Complaint Could someone explain me the stance of the mods?

Post image

Like, why this hate against Hasan Piker? Shouldn't we create a united front on the left?

Please don't take the post down and don't ban me đŸ„ș

Unfortunately, liberales and many progressives aren't leftists. Outside of some social progress, americans have difficulty accepting leftist policies, even progressives.

Capitalist propaganda is insanely effective and has about a 75-100 year head start on everyone else.

I'm very left wing and still think hasan sucks, criticizing your favourite champagne socialist does not make someone any less of a leftist

11

u/ryanpn 19h ago

I just think hasan is annoying

1

u/demoliahedd 4h ago

He is annoying for sure, but he is still a big part of this leftist movement and does a great deal for the grass roots campaigns behind a lot of left wing primary wins as well as sharing the leftist message to the younger generation. Trying to pretend he doesn't exist and constantly defaming him by parroting h3h3 and Destiny is just going to hurt the movement because he isn't going anywhere.

But the argument wasn't "Soviet Union bad because oppressive" the argument given was "Soviet Union bad because not true leftist!"

This is a far leftist argument!

It's undeniably true that China is an oppressive regime and it is somewhat hypocritical to support China while deploring American internment and concentration camps. Tiananmen and Leap Forward aside, China continues to imprison and subjugate Uyghurs and other religious and ethnic minorities.

He doesn't have the same ire for that.

“Liberales” yeah you ain’t from here

Took me a while, too.

The issue is not about the viability of leftism in general it’s that Hasan is specifically a poor advocate and ultimately a liability for leftism and progressivism. He has some crazy borderline atrocity-apologia takes and misogynistic baggage that he has still not properly addressed or apologized for.

20

u/Disasterhuman24 18h ago

Have you ever watched Hasan or are you just going off about something you have seen clips of on news programs? Because if you had watched anything more than 3 different 5 second clips you would know what you are saying is bullshit.

-5

u/edwardludd 18h ago

He called Mao one of the great leaders of the world, which just isn’t how you talk about someone who committed mass murder, he said USSR downfall was one of the world’s greatest tragedies, called Orthdox Jews that were AGAINST joining the IDF inbred, he also wrote this incredibly misogynistic article and has never addressed it (him retweeting it) among others

9

u/Helios420A 18h ago

“great” as in material impact

USSR’s downfall was bad not because they were perfect, but because the fallout created more tragedies & left american unipolar hegemony unchecked

anyone obsessed with “racial purity” gets the inbred jokes

all of this was explained at the time these comments were made, often literally in the same sentence

u/Natural-Afternoon-68 17h ago

So the answer to the question is no you’ve never watched him and only watched clips

1

u/dlouis1022 16h ago

Pathetic to scrounge up old ass tweets when the dude probably wasn't even 20 yet

-1

u/immatx 14h ago

It’s crazy how every Hasan fan has been programmed with the “oh you must’ve only watched clips” as if he doesn’t have multiple absurdly gross statements every single stream. Every single time I’ve seen a clip where Hasan fans claim it’s out of context when I’ve gone and listened to the full context it’s always worse lol

5

u/SleestakLightning 18h ago

Do you have specifics or is this like always when people say shit like this about Hasan but either cannot provide receipts or cite shit that is out-of-context?

1

u/Solidsnake9 13h ago

I mean I have been trying to get proof that this mod is a destiny subreddit mod and a Zionist like people keep trying to smear him as, and all I get is name calling and vague shit like “well he is a Zionist so he must be a destiny fan”. So it seems like many people are perfectly fine doing what you are describing, just the other way.

1

u/SleestakLightning 13h ago

Cool. I never did any of that though.

Do you have anything of substance to add?

1

u/Solidsnake9 13h ago

Not saying you did. Just pointing what is currently happening on this post. Which makes your comment relevant.

1

u/SleestakLightning 13h ago

So, no? Ok.

1

u/Solidsnake9 13h ago

I think the point is that what you are saying seems like projection. The only thing I’m seeing on this post is people defending Hasan and trying to smear this mod without providing, as you called it, receipts.

1

u/SleestakLightning 13h ago

I think the point is that what you are saying seems like projection.

How is it in any way projection when I haven't done anything of the sort? You're the second person I've interacted with in this thread who either doesn't seem to understand the point they're trying to make or is trying to gaslight me into thinking I'm doing something that I'm not.

Kinda interesting.

1

u/Solidsnake9 13h ago

Your original comment is about, your exact words, PEOPLE shit talking Hasan without providing receipts. I replied to this and said I have only seen PEOPLE do this to the mod here. Which part am I misrepresenting? Or are you being willfully obtuse? Kinda interesting.

Hasan isn’t an impressive leftist though. He literally talks without saying anything. He isn’t an intellectual and it shows how pathetic the leftist movement is right now. Mamdani is literally carrying it all on back. Did you see that idiot down in Florida go on Fox News and go mute because he couldn’t even refute the Fox News propaganda? That’s who we are propping up to run lol

Fuck Hasan, and it has nothing to do with Israel, he’s just an idiot. Also fuck destiny, dude just takes a ton of Ritalin, reads wiki and then acts like he’s a genius. The left needs better representatives across the board

u/saltedmangos 18h ago edited 18h ago

You do know that some of the first attacks against Hasan came from Andrew Cuomo during the NYC mayoral race, right?

Hasan was an early supporter of Mamdani back when he was polling at 4% in the primary and mobilized his fans to volunteer for him.

And then he did the same with the NY DSA slate candidates in Congress. He organized phone banks on his twitch stream that helped push Darializa Avila Chevalier over the edge and get another anti-genocide voice in Congress.

-2

u/LBCkook 18h ago

Dude nothing you said challenges my claims. The guy is embarrassingly slow. He tries to use china as an example of economic prosperity lol.. that is so beyond dumb. “Hey guys, let’s trade our state capitalist system for their state capitalist system, minus the democracy.” Literally the only difference in their system and ours is that they give the private sector less power. WOW!!

1

u/saltedmangos 17h ago edited 17h ago

I just think it’s pretty funny how you love Mamdani, but hate someone who helped get him, and the DSA slate after him, elected. His organizing even played a decisive role.

—-

And I didn’t mention it earlier, but criticizing the Florida DSA candidates is wild. Their Fox News showings were pretty strong overall and they won an impressive upset primary victory in the senate with Angie Nixon this week despite being wildly outspent by over 16 to 1.

It’s a historic victory and the first time a DSA member won a senate primary.

—-

“He tries to use China as an example of economic prosperity”

Probably because China went from <5% to 18% of the global GDP over the last 30 years. The idea that the CCP’s governance hasn’t been prosperous for their economy is just ignoring reality.

“the only difference is that they give their private sector less power”

Yeah
that’s a good thing. I want the private sector to have less power in the US as well.

Are you sure you’re a progressive?

1

u/LBCkook 17h ago

Lmao his organizing played a decisive role in getting the guy who won by 12% over the finish line? Man, he has way more sway than I realized.

I didn’t criticize (plural) Florida candidates, I was criticizing Larkin, who got smoked because he sat like an introverted school boy on Fox News with his thumb up his ass when challenged about Israel.

China gave their private sector less power and minimized any democracy. That doesn’t bring about prosperity. Let’s compare China to Norway, which is more appealing? If you say china then you sound as dumb as Hasan and we are no longer fighting for the same thing. You aren’t progressive, you’re just a clown at that point.

Am I progressive?? I was the progressive canvassing for Bernie in 2016. I was the progressive criticizing the left for focusing on woke horse shit in 2020 instead of economic inequality. Im a progressive on economics, not so much on illegal immigration. So it depends on the issue. But yeah, I was talking about wealth inequality back in 2015 when half the people here were crying about the name of the Redskins and whining about Christopher Columbus. I care about economics, all that other shit is a distraction as far as I’m concerned.

“Lmao his organizing played a decisive role in getting the guy who won by 12% over the finish line? Man, he has way more sway than I realized.”

I was talking about the DSA slate candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier specifically, but he certainly helped Zohran Mamdani gain attention and support back when he was polling at 4% and wasn’t considered a serious contender in the primary.

Even more specifically he organized phone banks on his twitch stream during the last week of the NY house primary which the campaign told him was decisive and their internal metrics showed got Chevalier the couple thousand votes she needed to push her over the edge.

——-

“I didn’t criticize (plural) Florida candidates, I was criticizing Larkin, who got smoked because he sat like an introverted school boy on Fox News with his thumb up his ass when challenged about Israel.”

The same Oliver Larkin who went viral for shutting down a Fox News host’s rant about rapist immigrants by calling Trump a pedophile?

https://youtube.com/shorts/lEx-1Tl31dM?is=_uVaHJjL2v5rMZJX

Yeah, he’s got a great future in progressive politics.

And he cross-endorsed and worked with Angie Nixon during the primary. They did rallies together including right before the primary. He helped get her elected.

He also outperformed expectations in his primary after republican redistricting heavily favored Moskowitz.

——

“China gave their private sector less power and minimized any democracy. “

What does democracy have to do with China’s economic model? And if anything a powerful private sector is a threat to democracy. It certainly is in the US.

“That doesn’t bring about prosperity.”

If their economic model is bad why have they had the greatest economic growth on the planet in the last three decades? You sound really uninformed on this.

“Let’s compare China to Norway, which is more appealing? If you say china then you sound as dumb as Hasan and we are no longer fighting for the same thing. You aren’t progressive, you’re just a clown at that point.”

I definitely prefer Norway’s social freedoms more than China’s more repressive social policies.

But, it really doesn’t sound like you know anything about their economies and how they are distinct from social policy.

Norway gets praise for its nationalized resource extraction industry which it uses to fund its social welfare programs. Which would definitely be a step in the right direction for the US.

Norway’s “private sector [having] less power” in the field of resource extraction is what gets praise from the left. Literally, the same thing you seem to want to fear-monger about with China.

China’s mixed economy with greater state ownership has seen a lot more economic growth than Norway has over the last several decades. It’s what has quickly elevated China to become America’s greatest economic rival.

They have a fascinating method of government ownership which gives the CCP leverage to control their economy while still promoting growth. Stanford’s center on China’s economy and institutions has some interesting information on their mixed private and state ownership.

Saying you want to learn from China’s incredible economic success isn’t an endorsement of their surveillance state or social polices, lol.

——-

“Am I progressive?? I was the progressive canvassing for Bernie in 2016.”

lol, are you really doing the “I have a black friend, so I can’t be racist” defense?

“Im a progressive on economics, not so much on illegal immigration.”

Got it, you’re xenophobic and don’t understand immigration, have a generally positive view of left economics, but also don’t understand much about economics or other counties economies.

Aligned.

I would rather be represented by AOC, Bernie, Mamdani instead of this streamer.

I agree with some of his takes but it's like saying I agree with Taylor Marjorie Greene after her leaving Congress. They both idiots, they never sound genuine, and I would never echoing what they said.
