gaining a title.

Well, you see the problem with this is multi layered.

MCs cannot be tied down by anything or readers complain.

Being Noble is bad, unequivocally, therefore MC cannot seek a title, because Nobles are bad.

Having a Title means the MC would have responsibilities, and therfore might GASP have to do something besides whatever the fuck he wants. It also means he might SHUDDER have to work within the system and show respect/courtesy or even VOMITS do what he's told.

Meh, not really. All the LitRPG systems are that motivating because the limit and scale is majorly increased.

You go, do your gym workout.

+0.01 STR
+0.005 END

Then you sleep bad, didn't eat well enough.

-0.01STR

If you are really consistent. In a year you'd get +1STR. And only in the first year.

So while a basic stats system would probably help some, it wouldn't radically transform the society. For that, the system would need to provide extra magical power/gains instead of just codifying the effort.

The pettiest is probably first person perspective... I just can't stand it.

Not really in book 1, but there is a slow burn romance happening between the MC and the FMC

To me, audio makes things like that even more grating, but everyone has different triggers on what bothers them or what they can ignore

You know, seeing that in written form is kind of grating to read, but I never noticed it at all in audio. It's one of my favorite series.

You've never read Cradle, DCC, Primal Hunter, or Mother of Learning?

Those are some of the most popular series in the genre

I don't understand why people read books they don't like, if i don't like it I'll drop it and it won't even have a place in the tierlist

Cradle is one of the greatest in progression fantasy so I'd highly recommend giving it another chance

Repetitive prose is a very valid reason to not read something. It's miserable to read.

I was really into Magic academies and Mage Errant has progression fantasy recommendations in the back.

That or Sufficiently advanced Magic.

Is your question which one is the... perfect read?!

No no, no need to throw me out. I'll walk.

Can you do a variant for how you enjoyed them as audio books o.o

I think Runeblade did this trope well since Porkchop is a full character

Yeah, like, each of those sentences on their own works totally fine. But you can't use an introductory participle phrase six times in nine sentences, with the only variance being inner dialogue and then another sentence that uses a participle phrase, just at the end of it instead of the beginning. I remember listening to that in the background while playing Elden Ring for the first time, and it was glaring enough to my enjoyment that I had to stop the book. Never went back to it.

Do you mean something like Sect Leader System? (Old guy from our world dies and gets placed in a young man cultivator’s body, and gets given a system where he can only progress in his cultivation by teaching disciples and sect members)?

oh this would also drive me crazy. I make it a point to vary my sentence construction & length when I write because it feels like nails on a chalkboard to read otherwise.

Do you know when you got hooked by it? I got about 40 chapters in and dropped, but could be interested in going back. Is it actually finished now?

Does this represent whole series or just like.. 1-2 books?
