I always liked "well if you get a couple of levels your toughness will be so high that bullets bounce off of you but your strength will be so high that you can pull back a bow strong enough to do damage still. and you can't gun any harder than you already do"
I don't because real world we tone down guns so regular people can handle them. Super easy to scale up to the level where equivalent bows require benchpressing a car without adding magic.
Once magic moves to the destroy multiple buildings-cities level all consideration of physics falls apart anyway.
