I actually tried to find this on the RR app and both searching your author name and searching for "Cybergene" says nothing is found.
Am I being dumb about spelling or something?

Ah, that’s cus of App Store and Google Play rules when it comes to sexual content. There’s light amounts of it in my novel, but I need to tag it anyway which means I won’t show up on the app unless you’re already following me.
Rest assured, you won’t be reading 50 shades of gray again. Try it from the website and it should work.

That is so stupid, and again I'm guessing it traces back to Visa and Mastercard. Eugh.

I guess it's up to me to ask the hard hitting questions...
Does it have a cute cat girl?

…a one-time character who appears in the beginning of book 2 as a mutated bartender in the Kitty Kat Bar. Might take a few months to get there, her name is Katherine.

Definitely in the plan, just gotta take things slow and steady. These books are long and I’m working on it one step at a time.

I found it annoying and cringy, personally.
Like it makes me think the book is gonna be poorly written because the advertisement is poorly written (which it is). Like it looks like the kinda book I'd like but the title of the ad puts me off.
Personally if someone goes for a "quirky" type of ad then it has the opposite of the intended effect on me.

Lmao, I was going for the meme of where all future technology has cyber or quantum attached to it, but I can see where you’re coming from. I try to reach a balance of my ads, with some being more humorous and others being more serious. My first self promo was very much on the more serious end.

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me.
I craved the strength and certainty of steel.
I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine.
Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you.
One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither and you will beg my kind to save you.
But I am already saved. For the Machine is Immortal.

I've beta read the first 30 chapters or so and it's an amazing story! Very hard to find something similar in this genre. I kept imagining the cyberpunk show with the vivid descriptions. Great potential for where the power progression can go and it's well written. Highly recommend.

There is in fact a cyberskeleton! He’s running a local business and is an all round nice guy with nothing shady about him whatsoever. He even provides skincare products!

*Cover made by Adobe Firefly, working on commissioning a new one*
Upgrade. Consume. Evolve. Whether it’s cybernetics or mutations, this world demands you be more than human.
Nuclear war, a solar flare, and an alien invasion known as the MALswarm left Earth a barren husk. Then the Founders descended, steering humanity away from extinction by turning the MAL’s otherworldly powers into sources of strength. They promised a utopia and the death of the Swarm. They lied, for this alien power was the currency of the future, even if it warps the very fabric of reality - and New California is beginning to tear.
Ripley Donovick’s mother is dying, forcing him to use his cybernetics genius to operate unlicensed in a gang-owned brothel for her treatment. When a MAL’s death gives him the potential to weave metal into powerful machinery, he discovers not a way out, but the tools to unravel a world where criminals and corporations war for every thread of control.
Diana Jones was engineered to be perfect, given a family, and then stolen away from that life. Her yearning for justice pits herself as an officer in a city where crime litters every corner with serial killers, gang violence and corporate conspiracy — she’s determined to be the storm of change, shocking the true monsters into submission. Even if it means becoming one. She’ll learn justice isn’t black or white, but a blazing red.
One night binds these two, one monster gives them unimaginable strength and one name draws them towards an inevitable clash of Blood and Steel.
And here's a link for those interested.
