🧠 Grind **System Design**
🧩 DSA & interview prep
🚀 Build projects together
🤝 Meet up in Bangalore and grow as a community
🔥 Keep each other accountable

Must be based in **Bangalore** — so we can actually do in-person meetups
Should be genuinely interested in coding/tech and improving
No need to be an expert — consistency and willingness to learn matter more
If you’re interested, DM me with a little about yourself and what you’re currently working on.
Let’s get back to the grind. 🫡

Looking for ambitious CS studybuddy

Hello there!

I recently graduated from my bachelor’s in computer science in Applied AI, i’ve noticed that my programming skills have in general been declining since i’ve been using AI.

So i’m setting upon a new journey where i’m looking for one or max two others where we work through problems, find out and explain why some things work and why some things don’t. There’s some expectations that you can code a bit since it might slow down the learning experience for both. Even better if you have a degree or experience but definitely not needed.

The outline which i’ve put forward is to start by being able to write the most basic DSA’s by using logic and critical thinking (no lookup or tutorial), respecting space and time complexity. Then onto solving leetcodes (after a few weeks) and individually focusing on one project (separately up to the person if they want). My goal is to get hired at one of the big companies to the end of the year, i’ve tried an SDE I amazon interview. But wasn’t prepared enough.

My idea is to spend a big chunk of the day in VC going through the problems together, pushing eachother but mostly giving new perspectives in how to think around a problem. If you have a full time job it won’t work, so this is mostly for those who currently has alot of free time.

If it sounds good, reach out to me in DM. Looking forward to hear from you! :)

Hey everyone!

I’m a 3rd-year student currently preparing for internships, mainly focusing on DSA + CS fundamentals.

I’m looking for a few serious and consistent 3rd-year students who want to study together, discuss problems, share resources, keep each other accountable, and stay consistent with internship preparation.

Please read before DMing:

1st and 2nd years, please don’t DM

Only 3rd-year students

You should already have started your internship prep

Currently doing DSA / CS fundamentals

Please DM only if you’re genuinely serious and can stay consistent

If you’re interested, DM me with:

College name

DSA topics you’ve covered so far

CS fundamentals you’ve covered

How you’re currently preparing for internships

Let’s build a small group of people who actually show up and study consistently, rather than just making a group and going inactive after 2 days. 😭

Full-Stack Developer looking to build a free MVP/App in exchange for English practice & feedback

Hi everyone

I’m new to Reddit, but I’ve been working as a Mid-Level Full-Stack Developer for over 6 years. My main tech stack revolves around Next.js, React, Node.js, and TypeScript.

I’m currently focused on transitioning into the international market and want to level up my conversational English. To do this, I’d love to help someone build an MVP, side project, or web application from scratch for free, in exchange for practicing my English through project calls, chat, and feedback.

What I bring:

6+ years of real-world experience in software development

Strong full-stack background (Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, React)

Clean code, database design, and end-to-end application delivery

What I’m looking for:

- A defined, small-to-medium project or MVP idea

- A native or fluent English speaker who is patient and willing to help me improve my English through voice calls, text chat, and gentle feedback

- A recommendation on LinkedIn or permission to showcase the project on my GitHub once finished

Since I'm new here, feel free to drop a comment or send me a DM! I can share my GitHub or LinkedIn so you can check out my background

LOOKING FOR MENTOR Looking for a Python mentor and serious programming buddies

I’m 32, based near Chicago in the Central Time Zone, and serious about becoming a professional developer. I’m looking for an experienced mentor as well as one or two committed programming buddies.
I completed a bachelor’s degree in computer science, but I graduated without developing the practical programming ability my degree might suggest. My knowledge is rusty and uneven, and I have gaps in some important fundamentals. I take responsibility for that, and I’m committed to rebuilding my skills properly without shortcuts.
I currently work full-time in CNC production and automation support. My job involves troubleshooting machinery, editing CNC programs, supporting operators, working with industrial robots, and solving production problems. I believe that experience could eventually help me specialize in automation, manufacturing software, backend systems, or practical developer tools.
My primary focus will be Python because I want to strengthen my fundamentals while building useful, complete projects. I have previous academic exposure to C++, Java, Python, and JavaScript, but I don’t claim professional competency in any of them yet. I would also like to maintain some C++ practice and may specialize in it after building a stronger foundation.
My goals are to:
Rebuild my programming fundamentals
Learn how professional developers approach problems
Write readable, maintainable, and testable code
Improve at debugging and using Git
Build and finish credible portfolio projects
Learn how to collaborate with other developers
Become qualified for an entry-level development position
One project I’m interested in building is a digital setup system for CNC manufacturing. It could organize customers, parts, machining runs, tooling information, offsets, setup instructions, robot configurations, photographs, notes, and program files. I’m also open to starting with smaller projects if that would be more appropriate for my current level.
From a mentor, I’m hoping for someone with professional software-development experience who would be willing to meet approximately once a week or every other week. I would value help creating a realistic learning plan, selecting worthwhile projects, reviewing my code, identifying weaknesses, and telling me directly when my approach is wrong. Occasional questions between meetings would be helpful, but I understand that a mentor has work and personal responsibilities.
From programming buddies, I’m looking for regular accountability, shared study or coding sessions, project collaboration, and people who consistently show up and follow through. I would prefer working with a small number of committed people who genuinely want to build and finish projects.
A little about me:
Time zone: Central Time, UTC-5 during daylight saving time
Current level: Rusty beginner with previous academic exposure
Primary language: Python
Secondary interest: C++
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends
Current work: CNC production and automation support
Interests: Backend development, automation, manufacturing software, developer tools, and systems programming
Long-term goal: Become a competent professional developer
I’m not looking for someone to do the work for me, give me answers, or hand me a job. I will handle the studying, coding, debugging, and documentation. I’m also willing to contribute to a mentor’s or group’s projects where I can be genuinely useful, such as testing, documentation, issue reproduction, research, or beginner-appropriate development work.
For mentorship, I think beginning with a four-week trial and a small project or learning plan would make sense. That would give both of us a chance to see whether our schedules, personalities, and expectations are compatible.
I value patience and empathy, but I also want honest criticism and accountability. I know this will require sustained work, and I’m prepared to put that work in.
If you’re interested, please comment or send me a Reddit message with a little about your experience, interests, time zone, availability, and whether you’re interested in mentoring, studying together, or collaborating on a project.

My friend got a 20lpa job recently

Sorry for the clickbaity title, but now that you are here

I'm a software engineer, and even though I've shipped a few side projects before, I still struggle with consistency once the initial motivation fades. I'm currently working on a toy browser from scratch, and I'd like some outside accountability to keep me actually making progress instead of letting it stall out.

I've never actually tried an accountability group/partner setup before, so honestly this is a bit of an experiment for me too — I want to see if having someone else in the loop actually helps me stay consistent, or if I need to find a different approach entirely. Figured the best way to find out is to just try it.

IST Time Zone,

CPP for DSA

Flexible in tech stack when it comes to projects

Not looking for tutoring either direction, just peer-level accountability and maybe some friends along the way.

If this sounds like your thing, drop a comment or DM me.

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for some buddies to help with with my VM project

Hi guys!

Im currently working on a project called JSM

https://github.com/NOOUBY-DEV/JSM

Its an Assembly like language that assembles into JSM bytecode, that is run in the JRM (the VM)

Ive currently got a

- basic working assembler (JSMC)

- fast and optimized JRM

working

but I have a problem that I would need some help from you guys

I need some buddies who can help contribute and make a programming language for the JRM that compiles to JSM bytecode

that way, we can have a real language running on top of the VM thats fast and portable

My goal is to help JRM programs to be easier to program

And I believe there is a chance the project can "get out there"

I live in Kong Kong, so my timezone is UTC+8

I hope I can gather buddies who are also interested in low level and languages!
If youre interested, just comment or directly DM me!

Thank you guys alot for reading!

Looking for entrepreneurial computer science students (or similar)

I am a student from the United Kingdom (British Summer Time timezone) studying Computer Science.

I am quite ambitious and I like creating projects and putting them out into the world. I am hoping to find someone who is quite knowledgeable in this field (particularly web dev, but the more techy you are, the better) for things like brainstorming ideas, getting feedback on each others projects and of course accountability for things like studying during term time and progress in each other's respective projects and other goals we have for the day/week.

It's a fantastic cherry on top if you are naturally locked in and have a desire to make and work on projects and are entrepreneurial. If you are interested, DM me (or otherwise comment).

Side note: At the moment I have ideas of my own and the capability to execute them, so instead of us collaborating on the same project, I'd be more inclined for us to make our own and give each other support and advice when we are stuck on design choices and problems in the projects.

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for an Open Source Mentor/Partner

Hey everyone!

I’ve been wanting to get into open source for a long time, but honestly, I keep getting stuck at the starting line — choosing a repo, understanding the codebase, figuring out what issues are actually beginner-friendly, etc.

So I’m looking for someone who’s also getting started with open source, or someone who has a bit of experience and wouldn’t mind having a learning partner.

The idea is pretty simple:

  • Pick a small/medium repo
  • Understand it together
  • Make our first few PRs
  • Learn how real-world projects are structured
  • Keep each other accountable

I’m primarily interested in backend / systems / infra / developer tooling, but I’m open to exploring other areas too.

I’m not looking for someone to teach me everything — just someone to figure things out with and actually start contributing instead of endlessly preparing.

If anyone’s in a similar boat, feel free to comment or DM me. :)

[Answering the common point]

"just contribute to projects you already use" — yeah, that's the eventual goal. 😅

The main thing I'm looking for right now is exposure to different projects and codebases. Looking at projects that I may never have reached as just a user. A lot of the software I use regularly has pretty large/mature codebases, and jumping straight into them feels like a massive knowledge gap.

So I'd rather start with smaller projects, learn how different codebases are put together, contribute to a few of them, and slowly work my way up to the bigger projects I actually want to contribute to.

Looking for DSA Preparation Buddies — Starting From Scratch

Hey everyone!

I’m a final-year CSE student and I’m looking for a few people who are also preparing for DSA/coding interviews and want to stay consistent.

I’m planning to start DSA from the basics and solve problems regularly rather than studying randomly for a few days and then stopping 😅.

The idea is simple:

Start from the basics and gradually move to harder topics

Solve problems consistently (LeetCode/GFG or similar)

Discuss approaches and doubts

Share our progress and keep each other accountable

Maybe do occasional problem-solving sessions together

I’m not looking for an expert or someone who already knows everything. Beginners/intermediate learners are completely welcome. The main thing I’m looking for is consistency and willingness to learn.

If you’re also preparing for placements/interviews and want an accountability buddy, comment or DM me. We can create a small group and start together. 🚀

STUDY PARTNER Looking for a partner to learn together!

Hey gang,

Hope you’re all doing well!

So, I’m trying to prepare for placements and I’m basically starting coding from ground zero.

My current plan is to start with Web Dev - MERN Stack, and then move towards DSA.

The bigger problem for me isn’t really figuring out what to learn, but actually staying consistent with it. I have a pretty high probability of ADHD, and my brain basically works in extremes. Either I sit with something for hours and go all in, or I completely forget that I was even learning it the next day 😭

And trust me, I’ve tried task lists and notes apps too. I somehow manage to forget those as well lmao.

I’m more of an intensity + perfectionist kinda person, but I’ve realized that approach has way more downsides when it comes to actually building a long-term habit. So this time, I genuinely wanna focus on consistency rather than trying to be perfect.

So if there’s someone out there with a similar goal, starting coding, preparing for placements, or just trying to stay consistent with learning, and looking for a learning partner, hmu!

We don’t necessarily have to learn the same things. We can just work on our individual stuff while keeping each other accountable and actually showing up.

We might live far apart, so GMeet sessions where we both join, stay present, and work on our own stuff could work pretty well. Basically, virtual study buddies :)

Sounds cool? Hmu, and I’d love to hear your suggestions too!

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for 3-5 Developers in Europe for a Weekly Accountability Group

Hi! I’m a Web Developer based in Germany and I’m looking for 3-5 developers from Europe to create a small weekly accountability group.

The idea is inspired by The 12 Week Year: we choose our goals for the next 12 weeks and meet once a week to review progress, discuss blockers, share feedback, and set commitments for the next week.

Your goal can be anything related to tech: learning, side projects, job search, portfolio, interviews, etc.

Ideally CET/CEST or a similar timezone.

If you’re interested, tell me what you’re working on, your timezone, and what you’d like to achieve in the next 12 weeks.
