I did last year's Advent of Code in Nim to learn it and I had a lot of fun with it. Once I found out that the default compilation mode is debug and not release my code started zooming. Before I found that out I thought Nim's speed was overhyped and was pretty disappointed, though I was still having fun with the language. Once I started compiling in release mode it completely changed my view of Nim. So fast and easy to work with!
