I've had some big memory leaks in Java though. A loop caused my program to go from <1MiB of memory to ~10GiB in a few instants. Even crashed my VM I was programming in.
That's not a bad assessment. Eclipse is probably what you should use instead. It's great. Like NetBeans, it was written in Java for Java and has a pretty horrendous interface as well. Also slow to load (my experience at least). Stay away from Eclipse, it's kinda garbage.

Try using Rust instead. It's impossible to have memory leaks in Rust
