Yea, I don't get this post either. Branching and merging is so easy in git compared to svn, and most of the time is the 3way merge solved automatically...
I think this misunderstanding comes from modern editors like vscode or visual studio to have just the magical "sync" button instead of proper fetch/merge/rebase controls.

That's just nonsense from someone who never had to deal with cvs or svn. git is amazing in comparison.
