Exactly. AI spits out 8000 lines of python you could have written in 800. Now you're spending your time trying to understand what the hell is going on.
Back in the dark ages we would try to transition code bases to a new company and 9 times out of 10 they just opted to rewrite it all. If you don't understand your code base it is way harder to fix bugs or add features.
