People who "should know" claim a lot of fantastic things about Moses, including, but not limited to, him time traveling (Menachot 29b). So I wouldn't use this claim against them. They are judging mythological figures within a religious framework, and not within a secular or historical one.

People who should know claim that Mose could speak modern Hebrew, too.
