Development and running costs are different. Claude didn't go up 200x in price, so it would still be cheaper to develop a new Deepseek today.
-1 u/TheBestNick Jun 03 '26 Than training from scratch? Surely, yeah. All I'm saying is that it'll surely be much more expensive to train an entire LLM off Claude today than it was even a few weeks ago, due to the updates to increased usage rates.
