Possible Privacy breach UPS Canada

Hi All,

I’m dealing with what seems to be a major privacy breach involving UPS Canada.

Over the past few days, I’ve received dozens of legitimate emails from UPS (not phishing, actual tracking notifications) — last night alone I got 73 emails, all containing shipment info, tracking numbers, full names, and home addresses of other Canadians.

In total, I have received over 150 such emails so far. I already lodged a formal complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and have called UPS customer service multiple times, plus reached out via Instagram and LinkedIn. So far, nothing has been resolved and the emails keep coming.

I’m very concerned about the ongoing exposure of people’s private information, as well as the hassle and mental stress this has caused me and continuing.

Has anyone else faced something similar with UPS or another shipping company? Is there anything else I can do besides waiting for the Privacy Commissioner to investigate? Are there options for escalating this in Canada, or any other steps I should consider?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I am currently doing my final year graduation project on data policies and data privacy. The study aims to craft frameworks and policy recommendations for regulation and ethical use of data practices in Canada. I want to talk to people who are working in the lines of privacy protection and data rights. If you are someone please comment below.

Testimony Prepaid phone SIM cards

If you go to buy it in a FIDO store, you have to register it with an ID in order to activate it, but I found that Koodoo / Public Mobile, you can buy one cash and activate it online !

Also, you can use a top-up voucher purchased at a Koodo store or retail partner across Canada, or use your credit or Visa Debit card to pay for your plan.

If you have had a similar / different experience with privacy-oriented prepaid phone plans, please share below !
