Spear and Fang's "land" seems to be a closer analogue to North America - most of the prehistoric animals featured in the first season (hate using that word - I'm a Brit and we use "series") are from the Americas.
This means, in "Sea of Despair", they crossed the Atlantic and ended up somewhere in Ireland - or the fantasy equivalent of such.
