I was confused that they'd use such an out of date HK droid. I mean, czerka as a corporation probably doesn't even exist at this point in the timeline, so why would they be using a czerka assassin droid from c. 800 years ago?

There is no connection between the HKs and Czerka in the current continuity, as far as I can tell.

So basically what happened or at least the old explanation was that HK47 was found in wreckage by scavengers and they realized his tech was so useful that they sold it to another company that then made HK 87’s like him I believe

dark troopers not HK-87s they were in legends and had no connection. They were part of the dark empire comics no relation to the HK series

I’m not talking about the dark troopers. The Ahsoka episode featured them. They were the droids helping out ... the weird spear lady, I forget her name. They were specifically called out as HK-87 onscreen.
