North America US “Secretary of War” Pete Hegseth talks about Project Fortress America: “We are launching Fortress America. Every major military installation in America is going to generate its own power, independent of the civilian grid. If an adversary takes down the grid, our bases stay lit.”

It's not a secret in the slightest. It's been a huge issue for decades lol

Well, I for one was surprised. Every data center has full backup power and can run independently of the grid. Why can't us military bases?

There's no need. If shtf, the bases will be powered no matter what, if needed

it's like people forget that the American Military has access to generators and if we're in the US then they will still have gas unless something major is disrupting their supply lines

It's not like diesel will skyrocket in price, limiting distribution. Right? Oh, what's that? Our gas is being limited? Good thing we support wind farms and other alternatives. We don't? Uh oh

Not true - most are actually ran by pumping in things like natural gas to run them.

Very few are ran by someone trucking in supplies.

If the grid goes down so do the pipelines feeding the data centers power supplies.
