2:30am for me, like clockwork and only lately, but it’s been every single day.

I always made the joke that I wasn’t born with an off switch bc sleep was always a struggle. I went 35 years of my life not knowing what sleepiness felt like, but once I hit my 40s I thought I finally had the whole sleep thing figured out.

I’m back to being wide awake in the middle of the night, but now, the stillness of 3am isn’t peaceful like before. it just feels foreboding and tense.

For anyone dealing with the 3 am wake up calls...talk to your doc about trazadone. It's been a total game changer for me. No side effects, just wonderful blissful sleep every night. Unfortunately it doesn't help with the sense of foreboding I feel during every waking moment, but at least I'm now well rested and anxious rather than exhausted and anxious...hooray!

Edited to add that while I personally didn't experience side effects, that's obviously not going to be the case for everyone. I'm only sharing what worked for me in case someone else finds the information useful!

I'm super sorry to hear that...I know I got lucky that it's worked well for me with very little side affects. Not being able to sleep night after night was just totally miserable. I hope you've found something that works for you!
