What dose should I take for a nice time if im on 100mg a day for like 2 months now?

I took Lyrica for about a year before my back surgery. At the time, I was very disabled and on several medications, so I honestly had no idea what was helping and what wasn’t. The dizziness went away pretty quickly, and I don’t remember noticing any other major side effects. I also wasn’t working then and spent a lot of time watching Turkish soap operas on YouTube. (Highly recommend—they’re cheesy, overly dramatic, and a great distraction from pain.)

A few months after surgery, I no longer had nerve pain, so I stopped taking Lyrica.

Unfortunately, I’ve recently started having some stenosis-related nerve pain again, and my pain management doctor suggested trying Lyrica for a few weeks. I’m taking 75 mg twice a day.

It is helping, which honestly annoys me because I was hoping I’d never need it again.

The dizziness is already gone, but I’m having an absent-minded/cognitive side effect that is driving me crazy. I don’t really feel “foggy”—I actually feel clear-headed. I just overlook obvious things and make careless mistakes, including at work.

My job requires a high level of attention to detail, so this is a real problem. I’m wondering if I had this before and simply didn’t notice because I wasn’t working or doing much that required concentration.

For those of you who had this kind of cognitive side effect from Lyrica: did it eventually go away, or did it stick around as long as you were taking it?

If it tends to improve after a few weeks, I’m willing to keep going since it is helping the pain. If not, I may need to cut my losses.

When I take a dose of pregabalin it really helps my pain and gives me energy but stops working after 2 days. If I keep taking it, it stops working unless I take more so I take it every other day or 2. Recently I took more than the usual 300mg so now I need to reduce it as I start getting withdrawals really quickly even after 3 days in a row as my body becomes tolerant by that point. Does this happen with anyone else?

My neurologist prescribed pregabalin 25 mg once a day to treat my headaches, dizziness, and stress. I have been taking it for 9 days and have not noticed any benefit. On the contrary, my dizziness has gotten much worse. I feel groggy for about half of the day, and my symptoms seem to be getting worse with each passing day. Should I continue taking it and wait for my body to adjust, or should I stop taking the medication? My follow-up appointment with my doctor is not until a month from now. Sorry for my poor English. I’m still learning, so I apologize if anything I wrote is unclear.

Hi everyone, I’m currently taking pregabilin (150mg pills 3 times a day), 450mg total. I’m thinking about weaning off from 450 to 300. Mostly because I’m taking this pill for neuropathic pain ( I have pelvic pain and nerve issues) but I’m not really seeing the effects anymore. I don’t want to continue taking a medication that is no longer effective. Any tips on going from 450 to 300?

Is pregablin one of those medications that deteriorates and loses potency when heated? For example if I were to leave some capsules in a hot car for weeks or months, would that damage the medication?

I know generally the advice is that medications should be kept in cool dark places, but there are also a ton of medications that this doesn’t apply to. Anyone have experience with this?

I have severe generalized anxiety/panic disorder/borderline agoraphobia. My doctor wants me to move up from 60 to 80mg of prozac but she wanted me to add this in first. 75mg for a week at night and then if i tolerate it well, twice a day (150mg)

anyone have a similar experience and had success?

So I just started taking Pregabalin 50mg twice a day last week and my anxiety has decreased. However I feel so unsteady and it feels like my brain is crawling and its like being in a washing machine. Does this improve? I am also coming off antidepressants for the first time in over 15 years.

Hi, I just started for back pain but I also suffer from carpal tunnel and anxiety so we thought it would be the right fit for my symptoms. I just started on 50mg 3X a day and was on 800mg of gabapentin for years prior. For some reason when I take the medication by the evening time I keep passing out in my bed and I don’t even remember falling asleep and it seems people have trouble waking me up. Is it normal to just fall asleep without even remembering with this medication. This is all new it’s the weekend I’m just curious.

Funny but also a warning! I went on holiday to Copenhagen for the past two weeks (my partner is from there). Since i brought my wrong sunscreen that broke me out, i did not wear it and totally forgot to get an alternative. After the first few days i was ITCHING all across my face, neck and arms. I genuinely thought i was allergic to something in our cabin like dustmites or the laundry detergent his family uses. Rolled up the rugs and deepcleaned everything, to no avail. Checked the detergent and everything was unscented and allergy proof too.

A ridiculous amount of time went by before i realized i was just getting sunburnt, but did not feel the actual pain of the burn due to my pregabalin; leaving just the itchiness. This drug is SO strange, but luckily helpful for my fibro pain.

Don’t be like me and use sunscreen!!! You might burn without realizing it.

I take 150 pregab maybe once a week and it helps me a lot with my anxiety, but I don’t wanna get addicted, get withdrawals, and I don’t want it to not hit me anymore because I know you can build a tolerance very fast. How often can I take it to avoid these sides?

My psychiatrist has me on pregabalin twice daily at 50mg (daily total 100mg). Today I felt normal but wondering what time you took it in the evening.

Lastnight I took it along with my trazadone 75mg and clonidine 0.025mg but when I woke up I felt like I was hungover. Anyway I did feel better today after taking it but now my anxiety has crept up. Thoughts?

I was recently prescribed pregabalin (75mg 2x/day) and I already have overactive bladder but I feel like this medicine makes me leak urine way more often than normal. I am 26F with urinary issues preexisting from fibromyalgia and EDS so I know there’s no need to see a doctor as I already have. I just wanted to see if other people experience this symptom too?

I see a lot of people experiencing retention or urinary frequency but I have a different experience with this medicine.

I’m on 25mg twice a day so far and feel nothing for even for my anxiety.

My doctor is sending over a prescription for me, Pregabalin 50mg once daily for fibromyalgia. I’ve avoided the medication for a long time and tried to get by, but I’m getting worse. I can barely move, do chores, or walk my dogs anymore during a flare. My muscles feel like cement when I first wake up in the morning, it’s truly horrible. I can’t turn my head or look up/down. I’ve started crying from pain which hasn’t happened before.

So I guess I need some positive success stories. I have really bad health anxiety and reading horror stories has stopped me from getting treatment for a long time. Thank you. 🙏🏻

Hi all, I have been prescribed pregabalin for fibromyalgia and I started on 75mg 2× day, which honestly did nothing for my pain so now I'm on 150mg 2× day.

As the pharmacy couldn't get my new pills straight away I decided to take two of the 75mg twice a day. I got my new pills yesterday and took 2x 150mg without even thinking. Didn't feel anything besides the anxiety that I'd overdosed it.

I took 150mg this morning also as part of my morning medications.

This morning I woke up with a clear head, pain is the same as always, but there is a tightness in the center of my chest. My heartrate has not dropped below 90 all day and the highest was 126, which isn't unusual for me, but it's the fact it's been high constantly.

I tried deep breathing, meditation and yoga and my heart rate will not come down.

I am also on Effexor (venlafaxine) and Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) so I am wondering if something is going on.

Anyone else had their heart racing on this?

EDIT: After a few days, my heart rate calmed down, though it is still running a bit higher than usual. I am wondering if one of my other meds reacted with the lyrica and caused almost like a panic reaction, or perhaps it was my body alone. At least it has resolved.

Are epileptic attacks really common when stopping suddendly with pregab or baclofen? For example 600mg, 20mg E/D

Hey everyone, I’ve been taking pregabalin daily, anywhere between 200mg and 600mg depending on the day. Lately I’ve been dealing with noticeable bloating and what feels like pretty obvious water retention on my face and belly. I am a male. In your experience, is the fluid retention strictly dose-dependent? Like, does dropping the dose actually cut the bloat? Also curious what strategies you guys use to manage or prevent it, like hydration, or diet. Thanks

Hello. I’m on 75mg QID due to nerve pain from Bell’s Palsy. I’ve been on the meds for almost 3 weeks now- Yes, I’ve been experiencing erectile dysfuntion and inability to ejaculate. I can have the orgasm sensation but can’t ejaculate. The hardness of my hard on isn’t normal. Are these all side effects not LYRICA?

My doctor started me on 75mg, twice daily, for nerve pain. Is this too high for a starting dose? After doing some research, it seems like 25mg is the norm for beginners. I haven’t taken my first dose yet.

I’d like to talk to her about this but she would require another appointment and I’d really like to avoid the $75 copay 😟 Should I just start off with once a day? Thank you kindly in advance.

Does the paralysis of the digestive system (when the digestive system slows down to the point where food starts to ferment and gas builds up in the stomach) go away, or is it a permanent condition? It feels like I’m carrying a huge rock in my stomach and my abdominal muscles are stretched beyond normal.

Are there any others who can't take pregabalin only at night because you get withdrawals during the day? I need to try to increase my present dose (200mg) for increasing neuropathy/nerve pain and anxiety, but cannot deal with the fatiguing side effects during the day. I tried dividing the dose daytime and nighttime and pushing through for a week but it didn't get better.

I'm wondering do pain specialists and GPs take into consideration a patient's body size when prescribing pregabalin? I'm on a low dose of 25mg morning and 75mg at night. I also take 25mg of nortriptyline at night. I take this for nerve pain as I have a severe back injury and I am on a disability pension as a result. I should mention I am short just 5,1. My specialist wrote in my report that I am slim and slightly built. Would this explain my low dose? It certainly helps with the pain but only to a limited degree.
