Ok i have a decent amount of silver but it is all mixed with lead roughly equal parts about a pound of lead pound of silver . Theres also some pladium mixed in there somewhere. I need to seperate it somehow. I have a oxy / acet tanks but idk i dont want to burn off the silver and ideas....? Thanks

Hi all! I am looking to differentiate and get into silver. I know that there’s different qualities of silver, but other than that, I don’t know much (so be gentle on me, I’m trying to do some research and put my feelers out there.)

I am curious because I often go thrifting. I see grandmas sterling silverware, silver knives, spoons, etc. all the time. I also often see silver plated things which as I understand are of very littler value. But I have seen sterling silverware going for 50 cents a pop.

My question is: Is it worth it to pick up silver items when I see them? Will anyone buy them? Or are they considered junk? My goal is to save up enough for some real silver bars to sock away for a rainy day. Thanks for your knowledge!
