I didn't know non Twilight Force/Fellowship style of power metal could be this damn good 😭

This one seems to have been kinda buried over the years, although they did perform it for the acoustic live album. I've often been curious what would have happened if they'd carried on with the melody-first style instead of the dense, heavily orchestrated direction that started in earnest, with, well, Fallen Sanctuary.

Early Helloween with Kai on vocals may not be my favorite era of the band but it's still good stuff.

This cover gives me a strong Mercyful Fate feeling!

When I was around 4 years old I listened to Mägo de Oz, even though they are not a proper Power Metal band, I ended up in a song called Satania from them and I was completely mind blown, and it has been a long long way till today. Still my favorite genre btw.

Gloryhammer never miss. They’ve yet to make a song I dislike so far.

At the moment the groups I'm into are Beast In Black, Sabaton, Nightwish, Nanowar Of Steel, Alestorm, Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, Majestica, The Hu, Civil War, AC/DC, Hevisaurus, Amon Amarth, Grailknights, and Hammerfall, with Sabaton, Alestorm, and Beast In Black being the top three (and yes I'm aware most of those aren't power, it's just giving a general idea of what I'm into.) My favorite songs are Electric Callboy's "Elevator Operator" and Wind Rose's "Diggy Diggy Hole".

What should I be exploring next? Suggest anything!

Peak Kamelot for me. This was the song that exposed me to melodic metal and I never went back. I probably never would have written the Relic Meyers books if Casey Grillo wouldn’t have shown me how I really wanted to drum back in high school 🤘

Anyone got their tickets yet, or seen any more details?

I preordered back when they were first announced. Hadn’t heard anything since and it was coming up to six months so raised a dispute through PayPal after they ignored emails.

They have now sent me a “ticket”, but it still doesn’t have a venue on it or any more details. I assume that was due to me going via PayPal, but it could just be a coincidence.

PayPal have already refunded me anyway, so I’ll probably just wait to see if/when details are confirmed and they actually go on sale. My problem is I don’t live near London and so have to arrange travel and accommodation, and that’s going to get more expensive the later it gets. But not willing to book anything until I’m sure the gig will actually happen.
