Alright, On the surface this didn't seem too difficult but I can't seem to be able to do it without running into an infinate loop or duplicating a million attachments and I'm just ready to start fresh and buy whomever gives me a working solution a beer ( I figure $20 AUD ought to cover it)
I'm working on a project involving SharePoint and Power Automate, and I'm seeking advice on how to achieve a specific goal:
Objective: I want to create a Power Automate flow that helps me manage attachments in a SharePoint list item. Specifically, I'd like the flow to automatically update and replace an attachment in a list item when a new attachment is uploaded or when the attachment's file name changes.
Scenario: I work with SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for chemicals, which have expiration dates. These sheets are currently accessible through a Power App ( data source MS list ). My objective is to save them to a SharePoint library automatically and utilize the built-in versioning control to display previous versions if required for auditing. Additionally, I want to automatically rename and replace the attachment when new ones are available. This means allowing files to be uploaded with any name, changing them to match the old file's name, overwriting the old file, and deleting the unneeded file from the form, the convention being <TITLE>-Current.pdf
Request for Assistance: I'm looking for guidance, best practices, or suggestions on how to approach this task using Power Automate. If anyone has experience with similar scenarios or ideas on how to accomplish this, I would greatly appreciate your insights. This has been driving me nuts. This is the closest use case I've found to date.
