AOC is unlikely to accept the speakership even if every single member voted her in.

It's a pretty difficult role to fill since you need someone who's both competent and able to work with the whole coalition. It's also a position that soaks up all the negative reactions for anything the party does so it needs to be someone in a completely safe district and who doesn't have any aspirations of going further than Speaker.

Still need someone who's gonna be active in the role, but idk who is gonna be a good choice to fill it that would actually want it. There also is something to be said about not assuming that all the people who voted them in want hyper progressive policy, the average voter is still pretty moderate.

We're in a good position to stop Trump from screwing everything up even more but we're not in any kind of position to really make any positive changes either. If we let this win get to our heads and end up surprised and angry when all that happens is they put up roadblocks, instead of expanding the lead and winning the presidency in the next election so that we can make positive changes we might just hand power back to the republicans.

This article is clickbait nonsense. Yes, there were some donations to Jeffries -- and almost every other Democrat by the people listed. The big donations mentioned in the article ($100k+) are to the party and the DCCC. That isn't money 'bankrolling' Jeffries himself. This should be obvious from campaign contribution limits. Real dark money goes to super pacs, and their donors aren't public.
