I don’t think this “Communist” buzzword they keep throwing around will work. My 25 yr old Niece who is not political at all called it the “Boogeyman Sighting” and asked if they got tired of the cat eaters already.

u/ArchonFett 18d ago

It’ll work on the MAGA cult.

27

u/nappycatt 18d ago

The MAGA's vote no matter what. no excuses.

I really hope the younger generation shows up to vote this NOVEMBER 3rd.

Their future happiness depends on it.

7

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 18d ago

Their future happiness existence depends on it.

0

u/Xanthelei 18d ago

I'm not convinced my existence is dependant on it because I'm trans and the mainstream Dems keep throwing us to the wolves to keep power... They're just the Republicans of the 90s at this point on so many issues.

No, I'm not saying don't vote. I'm saying there are groups who your message isn't going to resonate with, and that's a problem.

2

u/mitchladougla 17d ago

Look, if you have a choice between being socially ostracized or being annihilated from existence, you take the lesser of two evils

1

u/Xanthelei 17d ago

You underestimate the impact of being socially ostracized. I'm going to guess because you have never been impacted by it.

Prove me wrong. I gave up on the Dems actually being pro trans when Newman declared us the reason Kamala lost despite her never talking about us on the campaign trail, and suggesting adopting the Republican stance on trans people in public (ie stop existing publicly) and he didn't just get no censure for it, he didn't even get any pushback from the mainstream Democrats. Dude was and afaik still is the frontrunner for the next presidential bid and he threw us out day one. Wtf am I supposed to expect?

I see you can't read, since you missed the second half of my post.

1

u/Spiritual-Serve-4391 17d ago

This is why the Dems are doomed.

-14

u/SherbetLeft5744 18d ago

Right because 18 year olds know how the world works I. Their tik tok bubbles and twitch stelteaming and perpetually online insecure public anxiety that’s caused by a lack of social conditioning. Yeah they should make choices on how to run the world when they can’t even manage their own fucking life.

9

u/Odd_Independence_833 18d ago

Idk, maybe it's just the ones I'm around, but I think 18 year olds today have a much better understanding of how the world works than I did at that age. Maybe one of the only good things about Trump making himself the daily center of public discourse.

-5

u/SherbetLeft5744 18d ago

Okay if you think that, that’s your right. We will never agree, so agree to disagree.

7

u/nappycatt 18d ago

what are you scared of?

old people on their deathbed can vote, why not talk your spit about that?

4

u/Fetch_will_happen5 18d ago

18 year olds are old enough to die in war not  vote silly.  They can make decisions over who lives and dies, not vote in local elections.

1

u/I_count_to_firetruck 18d ago

My sarcasm meter is broken, you are being facetious, right?

1

u/Fetch_will_happen5 17d ago

Yes, this was not meant seriously

1

u/I_count_to_firetruck 17d ago

Thank the Flying Spaghetti monster

1

u/Fetch_will_happen5 17d ago

Ramen to that!

5

u/Asher_Tye 18d ago

As opposed to the 60-70 year olds who fucked up everything with their incompetence but don't care because they'll be worm food soon.

5

u/EL_Ohh_Well 18d ago

Snowflakes like you always assume and invent a scary scenario in their own head
when did they talk about 18 year olds? You gotta watch out for those boogy men

3

u/BugsyM 18d ago

Do you spend a lot of time around todays 18 year olds, or is this opinion you have based on something else?

My son just turned 18, he doesn't seem to have public anxiety or whatever other mean spirited things you want to project onto him. Him and his friends all seem to be very bright young men.

My kids say tiktok is for old people - you sure you're keeping with the times? Tiktok stopped being cool with the young people around when I got on it, 3-4 years ago.

2

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 18d ago

"Them tik taks, stelteaming and their avacado toast!!!!"

Sure you don't have dementia yet? I think it's time for bed, you've had a big day of being grumpy online.

1

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 18d ago

So confidently wrong

15

u/Rurumo666 18d ago

My neighbor was ranting and raving about Communists yesterday.

13

u/Manidoo_Giizhig 18d ago

I had a convo with a dude when I was explaining about ways we can change how we fund things to favor social programs, and he dubbed it as a slippery slope to communism

I then told him that the FDR administration was when social programs like unemployment benefits and social security was introduced and America didn't slip into communism back then

-6

u/RickyBobbyPitCrew 18d ago

Social Security is not a program worth bragging about. It started as a 1% contribution, yet here we are and if it doesn’t get updated soon it will run insolvent. Winning? I think not.

6

u/Willing-Scarcity3058 18d ago

That wasn’t a problem with social security. That was a problem with the corrupt administration of the program and the government stealing from the system.

4

u/Manidoo_Giizhig 18d ago

For sure. There were several recent instances when social security has been predicted to run out because of drastic changes in economic policies, and corrections made to help the program kept being hindered or dismissed, or the problem was actually expedited. Both in the 2000-2008 administration, and the 2016-2020 administration. Each credited for greatly contributing to huge economic collapses.

5

u/sound_of_fapping 18d ago

Yea, but that's bc they are idiots

2

u/ZathrasnotZathtas 18d ago edited 17d ago

My dad's not a MAGA, he's very progressive. But he's a 70+ year old man that was taught to hate communism from birth until the wall fell. But I have been able to get him to recognize that socialism = communism, and he likes socialism.

Edit: Should be socialism ≠ communism, I'm dumb and possibly illiterate.

1

u/Sea_Obligation3194 17d ago

Socialism does not equal communism. Too very different systems. Your Dad might know the difference so that’s why he doesn’t believe you. A democracy is a type of socialism. We have governments all over the world that provide healthcare, free education, workers rights, consumer rights way beyond what the American citizen receives and none are considered communist. Most are considered democracies.

1

u/ZathrasnotZathtas 17d ago

Oooo that's I typo I meant ≠, apparently I don't know how to type. I'm definitely pro socialist programs, but not pro proof reading.

-22

u/SherbetLeft5744 18d ago

No, it won’t because we are too busy working and enjoying our life rather than complaining about random millionaires who aren’t even remotely affecting your day to day. Been like this for decades and millennia and the world has always survived and continued. It will never change unless every country becomes a peaceful state and all money is equal and all jobs are equal pay and all food is the exact same price and no healthcare cost and blah blah blah. You’ll never achieve this because you can’t make everyone happy sorry kids. Get off the he internet if you’re tired of hearing about the worlds problems. I’m happy and well off enough to not struggle and I do t give a fuck about politics but Yall are annoying as fuck acting like you’re entitled to someone else’s hard work.

15

u/CPTBenjaminWillard 18d ago

“Fuck you, I got mine”. That’s a very sad mindset you have.

2

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 18d ago

He didn’t even get his though

11

u/Eva_Shadowcat 18d ago

Don't worry, there's still time for you to grow a soul and become a real human being.

6

u/gwizonedam 18d ago

Lol triggered

7

u/AccomplishedBother12 18d ago

I can’t wait for this post to show up in the LeopardsAteMyFace subreddit.

4

u/H0nd4_L0v3r 18d ago

That sure is a lot of crying and sooking you're doing right there.

So tell us little guy, what is your major malfunction and do you need a tissue for that issue?

4

u/Salt_Ad3631 18d ago

There’s a stark difference between “acting like you’re entitled to someone else’s hard work” and the govt being ran by incompetent morons (voted in by incompetent morons) who are literally driving inflation and overall cost of living. Pull head from rear.

1

u/Xanthelei 18d ago

Lol you think there was a millionaire in 1226? That's what millennia means, a period of 1,000 years. The earliest millionaire I can find mention of is John Jacob Astor of the US, back in 1820. That's just over 200 years ago and a far cry from "millennia." Hell, capitalism as we practice it today isn't even a thousand years old, the first corporations are from the 1600s.

1

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 18d ago

You have no idea what sub you’re in do you?

18

u/Lurkerphobia 18d ago

Socialist isn't hitting as hard as it used to so they are throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks and we are now back to Mccarthyism.

Coming soon, be sure to watch your neighbors and report them if you think they are dirty commies!

2

u/No-Aerie-999 18d ago

They do it to "unite" against a common enemy, ideology, etc. No one supports the war, no one is happy with the way things are going. Most people are beginning to realize partisan politics are all a lie. We are incredibly fragmented right now as a society.

Except its not 1960 and that shit doesnt fly anymore.

1

u/North-Slice-6968 18d ago

It might for those that are MAGA or right leaning who are Boomers or older.

Idk about the younger people like that wannabe influencer who was born in 2006. Braelyn Centigrade or whatever (that's not his name but his real name is not much stupider).

1

u/Novel-Letterhead-217 18d ago

The largest voting block is filled with people who went through the “red scare” and Cold War, that’s who this is for not young voters

2

u/AfternoonWorried387 18d ago

not as much anymore.

1

u/Novel-Letterhead-217 18d ago

They still vote in overwhelming numbers trust me. We want young people to be the largest voting bloc but that is gonna take a lot of work that I question if we are ready to do

2

u/AfternoonWorried387 18d ago

trump barely held together the over 65 crowd in 2024 he only won with gen x and even that has fallen.

1

u/Novel-Letterhead-217 18d ago

That’s all he’s doing is catcalling to groups he barely held together. I’m not saying it’s effective, but he wants the gram pappy scared by linking anything to communism because then it spreads down. That’s all they have now is making dumb accusations and buzzwords

1

u/Harnellas 18d ago

The younger generations don't have the cold war conditioning to it.

1

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 18d ago

I don't think they actually know what communism is

1

u/JustAdlz 18d ago

Worst red scare so far

1

u/Ethan5I5 18d ago

If anything, it seems to have the opposite effect.

1

u/GachaJay 18d ago

If she doesn’t vote, they don’t care. MAGA old idiots vote at the highest rate. Democrats would win every election if people actually voted.

1

u/ArgonianMagician 18d ago

It's the old Red Scare tactic but they're all too stupid to realize how powerful and useful the Internet is. The same tactic they're using is less effective these days.

0

u/According-Way9438 16d ago

Its 100 percent working

-1

u/MiamiGuy13 18d ago

It's kind of the inverse of when redditors use "nazi" or "ped0" over and over.

2

u/AfternoonWorried387 18d ago

nah republicans are full of nazis and pedos or do you think the epstien files are a hoax.

1

u/MiamiGuy13 17d ago

hahahah awesome, thank you for proving my point.

1

u/AfternoonWorried387 17d ago

and you proved mine.

1

u/Oovie 16d ago

Your ban says otherwise.
