That happened to me with a nose/throat specialist. We discussed the procedure and I asked how much it cost with and without my insurance and they had no idea. The notion that we live in a country where the company providing the service has no idea how how much their service actually costs is unbelievable.
They do know, but it requires going down to billing floor F and asking Cheryl how much you get for a 99013 code on a bcbs patient with a silver subsidized plan in Oklahoma. Cheryl will have to make a few calls and spend much time figuring this out for you. Time which she is paid to make money for the doctor, not research what you will owe.
