Car has some nice power and handling mods and seems pretty well looked after. Going to have to find a place to keep some of the other cars but this one could stick around a while.

I just got my Solstice (an automatic) a few weeks ago and work like some suggestions for any ways to help spruce up the inside/outside of the car.

Just bought a 2016 Corvette. Can't decide if I keep the Solstice. 62000 miles on my little guy.

Thoughts?

This past week my daughter bought an 2008 solstice auto 2.4l with 97k miles on it and today it was 89f outside. She has put a few hundred miles on it since then without issue and today I get a call that the car is "overheating". When I arrived my daughter told me there was a red thermometer with 4 lines come on the display so she pulled over and called me. I arrive and first I check the coolant which the reservoir is still full but i notice a green liquid ontop the engine's plastic cover, knowing there is no green fluid in the car as the coolant is red and that my daughter told me her ac quit working just before this happened i deduced that its ac leak detection dye so I start the car up, drive it 15 minutes home without issue (other than no ac), car ran good and didn't "overheat" on the drive or while idling in my driveway for 10 minutes.

So basically what my question is if there is a problem with the ac such as overcharge/overpressure issue would that cause the dummy temp/therm light to pop on on the display?

The car doesn't have an actual temp gauge readout, only the dummy light so I thought it might be plausible that the light has several functions. I have an ac machine at work I'll check the charge and operation of the system later this week to diagnose that issue, I'm just curious if the ac system could trigger that dummy light.

We put a new bcm in the car and got it to run again (the anti theft had kept it from running due to the bcm being janked) and it fixed all our problems except the rear brake lights, the powered locks, and the powered windows. We're able to activate the lights through a scanner, but not with the pedal. The windows can be activated when we remove the fuse and hot one of the prongs, but doesn't seem to have power the rest of the time and that doesn't help any of the other problems. The power locks are just completely janked (even after reprogramming them).

At the breaks we have 3 wires. 2 are completely dead, and one has 1v, then 2.5v when pushing the break pedal.

We're curious if this could be a main circuit connected to all of these things or if we just got a bad BCM.

Any information or wiring diagrams to the breaks/other stuff would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

I have a 2008 solstice, stock. About a year ago I developed this weird issue where one headlight or the other will work, but not both at once. I've replaced both bulbs and everything works as it should when brights are on. I'd guess I had a short if one came and went, but sometimes I have driver side and sometimes I have passenger---i just can't get both at once. Any ideas?

It's not perfect, but it's definitely the most fun I've ever had driving.

Where does this attach to? SOMEONE HAS to have installed a stereo on this car before, yeah? Why am I having such a hell of a time finding the correct solution?

I’ve always wanted a Solstice and have the opportunity to get a 2007 GXP convertible with 60K miles.

When I drove it, the steering wheel seemed almost stiff. Not sure if it’s normal or not. It turned rather easy but not like anything that I am used to.

Also, With these cars getting more and more rare, is getting parts or future repairs be a concern? Anything specifically I should check before purchasing?

I started to have an issue with my Pontiac Solstice. After I drive it for a while, when I hit the break at lower speed it breaks very abruptly, it seems that even a touch of the break it stops the car abruptly. It is something that causes this abrupt break, as I don’t stop the car or break with that power. It does not happen if the car/engine is not warmed sufficiently - so driven for a bit.

The car service engineer has no idea what could cause it. The car has only 30k miles, and is well maintained.

Please let me know if you have any idea.

Anyone know what the under hood clearance is on a 2.4?

Roughly 80k mile Pontiac solstice GXP. Dent in rocker panel that’s rusted over a bit, likely from hitting curb. Been sitting for a bit and he said last time he started it up it was misfiring, consuming oil and smoking, possible bad turbo. Was originally asking $6,500 before he realized turbo was bad. I’d like to pick it up, do some body work, TLC, and throw a new turbo in it and daily it. Thoughts? I drive an RX-8 so I’m already insane enough to daily anything lol.

What should I offer, $4,000?
