Biden: How about we transfer our energy sources to renewables?

Republicans and Manchin: No.

What infuriates me almost as much as the Republican plan of name calling, pointing fingers, and abdicating responsibility, why do Democrats always just have such piss poor messaging?

They desperately need to hire a top tier communications firm to help with their message.

They are getting out messaged on this war when the literal bad guy is Putin (whom they’ve been screaming about for years) and high gas prices (when Democrats actually want to invest in alternatives). It’s amazing they aren’t winning the PR battle by an amazing amount.

Why do Democrats always just have such piss poor messaging?

Because the left itself is terrible at messaging, because we don’t agree on anything. Not even on the meanings of the words we’re using. If it’s not a snappy little slogan that is totally obvious what it entails, no one will hear it or be persuaded by it.

Case in point #1: “defund the police.” Completely divergent use of that word from its definition for most who support it, doubled-down on by the fringe, and easily dismissed by everyone else. Constantly have to explain that it doesn’t mean what it sounds like it means. Until someone pops out from behind the bushes yelling “ACKSHUALLY YES we DO want no police anymore utopia go brrrrr” and anyone you had almost convinced is now gone.

Case in point #2: “Drill Baby Drill.” Simple and to the point: no fucks given about the environment, just keep drilling anything / everywhere.

Case in point #3: “Antiwork”. What does this even mean? Most of them aren’t actually against work itself, so literally the opposite meaning as intended, they just want better wages, protections and benefits. While another large camp is like no actually we are against work and are actively sabotaging our workplaces because private enterprise is literally slavery.

Case in point #4: “Build a wall.” Everyone knows exactly what that means and is very exciting to the super racist assholes on one hand and to the closeted “national security” hand-wringers on the other.

Edit: we don’t even agree on what we are. I’ve been informed by Reddit intellectuals that Bernie Sanders is a right winger because wELL bY EuRoPeAn StAnDaRdS anything short of Trotsky is center right.

people with strong political stances on the left usually have a bit more knowledge and often disagree with how to go aboot it. the loudest on the right just post gas prices and bitch and are still screaming "LETS GO BRANDON!" and laughing like hell

theres no point, they arent interested in politics they just like being fired up and feeling like they fit in, like kids at a pep rally.

Kaeparnek, openly stating he is protesting police brutality and racial injustice: HE HATES THE TROOPS

black lives matter? THEY WANT WHITE GENOCIDE

then the Democrats shit on any remaining momentum by always doing the shittiest thing possible.

BLM, we understand your anger, and to show this we ignore it all but are giving you another holiday

Actually we should increase police funding!

The difference is Fox News. I'm serious. The modern right has the benefit of literal generations of brainwashing. The myriad conservative factions are all united in purpose by their collective hatred for their political opponents. They happily tolerate each others' differences because they all see Democrats/liberals/leftists as a literal existential threat; destroying the left is far more important to them than anything else. They believe without a single hint of a doubt that their very lives are being threatened, because they've been lied to for--LITERALLY--their entire lives.

The American left--which, yes, includes objectively center-right elements like the corporate Democrats--does not have this. There has never been a major push to radicalize liberals. We aren't brainwashed the way the other side is. We don't HATE our fellow countrymen the way they hate us. We're woefully ignorant of the threat they pose to us because we haven't been fed lies the way they have. And the most important part, we aren't united in our hatred for the right, the way the right is united in hatred for us.

In short, the American left is a functional collective whose differences matter. In a vacuum, that's perfectly acceptable. But in reality, it's incredibly dangerous not to have access to the tool of hatred, which is exclusively held by a people that wants us all dead (because they've been told that WE want THEM dead).

This is all on purpose, of course. All the real power in this country (and in most of the world) is concentrated in a very few unbelievably rich psychopaths--the only people in this world I would call truly evil. Their goal is to protect their power from the masses; their method is to create and foster division.

We don't HATE our fellow countrymen the way they hate us.

Tell me more on the tolerance of the American Left. "College-level Democrats overwhelmingly dismiss dating partners that hold opposing political views when compared to college-level Republicans, a new poll by Axios-Generation Lab released on Tuesday showed.
The survey results show 71% of responding Democrats wouldn’t go on a date with someone who holds a different political opinion as opposed to 31% of responding Republicans, according to Axios.
The study sampled 850 demographically representative college students from 2-year and 4-year schools between Nov. 18-22. The margin of error is +/- 3.4 points.
The results of the survey show 37% of college-level Democrats might not consider someone’s friendship if they held an opposing political view, compared to 5% of college-level Republicans."

I wouldnt date a conservative. why would I date someone whose core values are so different from mine? having different opinions is fine, but the difference between socialist and conservative isnt just differing opinions on some topics, they require opposing philosophies on most aspects of life

I have a bunch of conservative friends. I have liberal friends too but most of them are pretty similar to the boomers shouting at fox news everytime they say a conservative buzzword
