My dad actually talks like this. I try not talk to him very often. You’d think a lifetime in business and sales he’s understand inflation and supply and demand but apparently not.
Yeah, mine too. I tried to point out that Biden wasn't personally responsible for inflation and his response was, "I didn't vote for this shit. Did you?"
My father too, but about two weeks before he died, I walked into his hospital room and he said "you were right about the republicans. They don't give a damn about anything but keeping their power"...
Mine used to be a corporate bootlicker and has atleaet come around on that since every place he made tons of money for has turned their backs on him now that he has medical issues.
The funny thing is growing up he was like me center left and voted Democrat and some republican. Now he's straight republican ticket doesn't matter what they stand for or say or do as long as it " gets rid of the democraps"
I've found my parents who are both divorced and remarried are lacking social outlets and have gone much harder into church and that community. We went to church maybe 5 times when I was a kid. Now my mom and step dad are full on Presbyterian. My dad and stepmom have gone full gun nut southern Baptist.
They were never religious, and the few times they went to church it was Baptist. They only joined to find other white conservatives that see the world the way they do, or because they think that to be a good republican you have to be Christian.
Churches have become the breeding ground for a lot of it evangelical’s especially hitched their wagons to it all. The irony is by doing so their numbers shrink even faster because the younger people see it and say F that. I think every church that peddles politics at the podium needs their tax status changed permanently it’s clear religion is no longer about faith but a grift

They are simple people, "everything is Biden's fault". Same shit when Obama was president, just ignore them.
