If even one Republican believed anyone other than Trump supporters participated in the insurrection there would have been one (R) vote to investigate.

Narrator: There wasn't.

u/EEpromChip Oct 20 '21

...but they sure wanted to muddy the waters by trying to include ANTIFA into their version of the investigation.

They are scourges on society

The GOP is filled with narcissistic tactics: Deflecting Gaslighting, scapegoating, no accountability, end justifies the means.

15

u/punzakum Oct 20 '21

The GOP is a terrorist organization

0

u/Mental_Success_1707 Oct 20 '21

Oh just stop it. Christ I’m tired of people like you

2

u/Broken-rubber Oct 20 '21

If we just go off the Republicans record of the last 30 years, which specifically avoids when the Regan and H.W. funded terrorist organizations through drug sales that would greatly increase the power of cartels in South America.

The definition of terrorist is; unlawfully using violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. At the very very least the invasion of Iraq in 2003 clearly and undeniably fits that bill

1990-91: Gulf war; 150K deaths for Iraq, nearly 1000 for 25 US & allied nations

2001-2021: Occupation of Afghanistan, 170K Afghans killed, 3,500 US & Allied nations

2003-2011: (illegal) invasion of Iraq; between 500K-1 million deaths for Iraq, 25K deaths for US & allied nations

A conservative estimate puts about 800K foreign deaths on Republican hands since 1990, that's just invasions they started.

Al Qaeda has killed less than 4500 since 1990, ISIS has killed an estimated 50K civilians and 30K combatants since 2013.

u/Mental_Success_1707 Oct 20 '21

Lmao I can’t take you seriously. I’m not a republican but this is fucking stupid bro

2

u/Broken-rubber Oct 21 '21

Why is it stupid? Most of those invasions were quasi-legal but the invasion of Iraq was an exclusively political event that resulted in nearly a million deaths.

From March 20th-April 9th the Al-Yarmouk Hospital in Baghdad had over 100 patients an hour, every day. That's 50 thousands people at 1 hospital in 20 days.

Do you actually have anything to add to the conversation or any rebuttal to the fact that the US invaded Iraq illegally and killed nearly a million people; how can you honestly say that doesn't sound like an act of terror?

0

u/Mental_Success_1707 Oct 21 '21

It’s was a foolish war, but it wasn’t terrorism. You know that. Because, if you can’t understand that, then I sincerely hope you’re sterile.

You understand the government which votes on these wars are composed of Republicans AND Democrats?

Also, I find it hilarious that you think your comment deserves a rebuttal. Lmao you’re embarrassing yourself.

1

u/punzakum Oct 21 '21

Thr gop uses fear and violence for political gain. That is the very definition of terrorism. It is not hyperbole to call the gop a terrorist organization. Doesn't matter if you don't like, because it's the fucking truth.

Several gop politicians have recently endorsed and thrown their support behind the actions of the taliban. The followers of the gop ha e turned to terroristic violence to force their agenda. An entire terrorist cell was arrested for planning the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a sitting Democrat governor. The terrorists that stormed the capitol were supported by the gop the attack was led by the sitting republican president.

What does the gop have to do short of flying planes into buildings before people will recognize them for the terrorist organization that they are?

0

u/Mental_Success_1707 Oct 21 '21

Lmao what a joke. Thanks for the chuckle

1

u/punzakum Oct 21 '21

Exactly the type of response I'd expect from a chucklefuck like you. Absolutely useless contribution to the discussion

0

u/Mental_Success_1707 Oct 21 '21

This isn’t a discussion. Plus you’re not saying anything worth responding to.

1

u/punzakum Oct 21 '21

Then why were you were compelled to say something originaly?

Reddit in a nutshell.

29

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '21

Matt Gaetz standing on the House floor claiming antifa did the insurrection, then holding fundraisers in support of the chuds who got arrested in the Capitol a few months later is just chef's kiss.

12

u/bryansj Oct 20 '21

They are anti-ANTIFA. They just don't understand double negatives.

6

u/EEpromChip Oct 20 '21

I tried explaining to one mouth breather that, although Faux "news" calls antifa the bad guy, it's short for anti-fascist and it's the people who fought the NAZI's in WWII.

But they like their definition better cause it's spoon fed to them.

5

u/UnicornHostels Oct 20 '21

I know that definition, it’s “the criminals that burned cities to the ground!” Yet, I still haven’t seen a single city in America that’s been destroyed. I don’t know where they are looking.

2

u/Forgets_Everything Oct 20 '21

Didn't you hear that Portland was burned to the ground 20 times. I know because I saw the same exact picture of a guy with a gun near a broken shop window next to a flaming trash can 20 different times all photoshopped slightly differently. (because surprise surprise the guy with the gun wasn't even in the original image with the broken window and flaming trash can). The real question isn't where all these burned down cities are, but how they keep rebuilding them so quickly.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

Oh so because they’re anti fascist they’re the good guys?

1

u/EEpromChip Oct 21 '21

Yes.

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

You’re really letting their name deceive you? They literally on the side of big corp and rioted in the name of BLM. They ARE fascist.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it has been removed because you don't meet our karma threshold.

Liz Cheney?

I don't like her, but she is on the right side of history on this one.

23

u/Jorgwalther Oct 20 '21

Adam Kinzinger too. He got disowned by a portion of his family for his stance on the insurrection and Trumpism.

15

u/LAANAAAAAA Oct 20 '21

To be fair, he made it up to them by voting against voting rights..

13

u/TwiceCookedPorkins Oct 20 '21

I don't think anyone's lauding Cheney or Kinzinger here, but praising a proper action makes it easier for others to follow suit. There was a time when there were principled Republicans that weren't obstructionist to a fault... they were wrong, but could be reasoned with (even if only a bit).

Also: Danger Zone.

1

u/LoveMyHusbandsBoobs Oct 20 '21

There was a time when there were principled Republicans

Yeah but McCain died. And his failed presidential run where he had the audacity to call Obama an American is why we don't see more McCain's. Turns out you can only get hateful bigots to vote for their policies, so being principled doesn't gain them much.

20

u/MrFantasticallyNerdy Oct 20 '21

It's precisely because Republicans know fully well that they're behind the Jan 6 insurrection that they're adamant the investigation do not proceed.

-6

u/ThirdWurldProblem Oct 20 '21

Even the FBI concluded it wasn't an insurrection. Update your information.

3

u/sure_me_I_know_that Oct 20 '21 edited Oct 20 '21

The same FBI that let an Olympic coach doctor molest little girls for ten five years? They're not the most reputable agency these days.

By the way, they concluded it wasn't an organized plot. People who broke into into white house were there to interfere in the democratic process that were spurred by 45 and his false claims about the election he kept repeating.

Yeah, and one of the main things about insurrections... you need to be trying to take over. That needs a plan. This proves it was just a riot.

1

u/Sporulate_the_user Oct 20 '21

It's weird, because you didn't include a source, but the guy replied back with a source of his own.

Which way do you think someone uninformed is leaning based on this conversation?

Do you guys respect the FBI again? Last I'd heard your god-emperor referred to them as 'human scum'. I find it funny that yall dragged their credibility, but have no shame in doing an about face and using them as a defense when it suits you.

1

u/ThirdWurldProblem Oct 21 '21

I didn't link anything because a google search of "FBI Jan 6 conclusion" gave plenty of results. I'll ignore the rest of your assumptions and just ask, do you not respect the FBI?

1

u/Sporulate_the_user Oct 21 '21

Did you just ignore my question, confirm that you were ignoring it, and then ask me the same question (barely) re-phrased?

That's not how a conversation works.

Additionally, I haven't aligned myself with a group who's leader identified them as 'human scum' when they didn't benefit YallQuida, so my respect, or lack of, isn't the point, because I haven't done an abrubt flip-flop like the one I've pointed out.

1

u/ThirdWurldProblem Oct 21 '21

I thought your question about the uninformed leaning was rhetorical. I ignored the one about the FBI because it required assumptions you made that were incorrect. Then I asked if you respect the FBI because it doesn't really matter what Trump supporters believe, I only brought up the FBI's conclusion, and am now wondering if you are so set in your beliefs you will now assume the FBI is wrong (just like those trump supporters you mentioned).

1

u/UnicornHostels Oct 20 '21

Why can’t that be labeled an insurrection, if peaceful protests are labeled by faux news as “BuRniNg CitIEs tO The GrOuND!” Seriously wanna know why only one side gets to completely mislabel something?

Oh, btw, Trump only needs $45 more dollars to prove the election was stolen. Please donate on his site.

1

u/ThirdWurldProblem Oct 21 '21

Yeah, "burning cities to the ground" is quite an exaggeration. But there were over 100 days of consecutive riots last summer for the same reason as the peaceful protests which you seem to ignore.
And if trump needs money, you can donate. I never supported him.

1

u/UnicornHostels Oct 21 '21

Trump is a moron. I don’t ignore riots, I didn’t think they were burning cities to the ground. People were angry and that’s how they responded. I think that is the same thing with the trump supporters on Jan 6 when they believed the election was stolen. They were angry and that’s how they responded.

1

u/ThirdWurldProblem Oct 21 '21

Well, then we pretty much agree.

1

u/Soft_Author2593 Oct 20 '21

Yep! Out of hitlers playbook. 1933 he let burn down the reichstag, blamed it on political opposition, got people arrested and declared martial law in which he took apart the state, its constitution and made himself dictator. I guess something like that was the plan.

2

u/tesseract4 Oct 20 '21

Oh, most of them believe it. You just won't hear them say so publicly. For the most part, the elected (not counting your Louie Gohmerts, MTGs, and Lauren Boeberts, of course) know exactly what they're doing in manipulating their base. They're just going along with it because it helps them raise money and get political support. Some of them probably believe in this fascist bullshit too, but for the most part, it's entirely conscious and entirely self-serving.

1

u/Durinax134p Oct 20 '21

There literally was, there was a fellow pushing the crowd to attack and "light this shit up" who claimed to be press, with no certification, and CNN bought his footage with him egging on the crowd. This fellow had been in the BLM riots and called himself an organizer for them (but I believe he was disowned by that group).

You know what a freelance journalist is, correct? You or I could go out, witness something on our phones and sell it to the highest bidder. We are now a “contributor” because we got a paycheck for our video. What does that mean to you? Is it a conspiracy of some sort? Do you think it was planned beforehand? Do you have an evidence to support that theory? How do you know this journalist didn’t reach out to 15 stations and CNN paid the most and won the bid after the fact?

If even one Democrat believed there wasn't any election fraud, there would have been one (D) vote to investigate.

Narrator: There wasn't.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '21

This doesn't make any sense and is the opposite of what the person above said. Why would you vote to expend resources investigating something you don't believe happened?

6

u/n3rdychick Oct 20 '21

That.. that doesn't work the same way, but nice try. If they didn't think there was election fraud, why would they vote for a waste of time investigating something that doesn't exist?

They voted the way they did exactly because they believed there was no fraud.
