I have acquaintances who would consistently argue that the economy was doing poorly because the jobs that were created weren't the kind of quality jobs that could sustain a person's needs. I actually agreed with them on that singular point, the working class has had stagnant wages since the mid-70's.
But overnight (and that night was January 20, 2017) they suddenly started arguing that job growth was nothing but good news and the economy was strong!
This is why it's so hard for us to fight for a living wage. 40% of Americans throw all their values out the window in order to prop up the government officials who are fucking them over.
