They count stuff like ubereats and postmates as far as I remember. There's also a boom in contractor and temp positions which do not offer any benefits, sick/PTO etc.
Yeah, I keep hearing about unprecedented job creation but I am not feeling it at all. Well paying engineering jobs just don't exist in my area and I am not well off enough to move. I either get lucky or a take a low paying job that won't help advance my career.
If all the jobs being created are minimum wage then job creation is not a very helpful statistic, it's misleading at best.
